Manager, Development & Fundraising Job Description / Responsibility The Manager, Placement and Community Engagement will support

t our goals as an organization by ensuring strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the education sector, as well as placement for Teach For Bangladesh Fellows in the highest need schools across Dhaka city. Identifying and profile target schools in Dhaka city that are aligned with larger organizational objectives and suitable for placing TFB Fellows. Survey target communities and schools to inform organizational understanding of demographics, needs, barriers and motivations. Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders in order to help us achieve our mission, including: Upazila Resource Centers (URC), Thana Education Offices (TEO), District Primary Education Office (DPEO), the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) and the Ministry of Education; key nonprofit organizations and parents associations; teacher and principal syndicates; independent experts; and principals in target schools. Identify, cultivate and influence school and local government leaders to enable proper placement of Fellows in schools. Design and implement a strategy for securing highimpact school placements for our inaugural batch of Fellows. This includes designing and implementing of school recruitment campaign, development and implementation of professional development sessions for principals, planning and execution of key events, etc. Strategically match available teachers with available placements, balancing their preferences and qualifications, the needs of the school, and the opportunity to maximize impact. Develop and maintain a database of key information and statistics about the Bangladeshi school network and the details of our placement campaign, and use it to analyze and optimize results. Write and manage high-impact external communications (government relations, etc.) to ensure high levels of stakeholder satisfaction Collaborate and coordinate closely with other functions and team members at Teach For Bangladesh to ensure alignment and effective execution across the full program continuum (Recruitment and Selection, Placement, Leadership Development, and Alumni). Because we are a startup organization, every staff member in our organization is expected to pitch in as needed outside of his/her department as well. This would include, for example, helping with the selection of teachers, supporting our recruitment efforts, and other strategies essential to the success of our mission. As we are a member of the Teach For All network, all team members are also expected to share knowledge and best practices and to work effectively with the broader network.

The Asia Foundation Position Vacancy Finance Manager The Asia Foundations (TAF) Bangladesh office seeks qualified applicants for the position of Finance Manager. The position holder will be responsible for ensuring that the finance unit is functioning efficiently and effectively, assists the Director of Finance & Grants with financial reporting and reconciliations, and makes sure staff adheres to finance policies and procedures. In addition, the Finance Manager ensures compliance with various donor rules and regulations. Key Responsibilities: In co-ordination with the Director- Finance and Grants the incumbent will be responsible for planning and developing financial management systems, policies, and procedures that are consistent with The Asia Foundation and USAID and other donor guidelines and policies. The responsibilities are included but not limited to:

Ensure that expenditures are within budget and are in compliance with commitments made in project work plans and in the operating budget. Ensure that adequate systems are maintained to control funds and assets. Review and/or prepare reports and information required by headquarters, and ensure it is submitted on time. Monitor cash flow to ensure that an appropriate level of cash is maintained in the bank and in petty cash. Ensure checks, vouchers, receipts, payroll, and other financial documents are properly safeguarded. Prepare information as needed to senior management with a financial overview to support effective decision-making. Assist in preparing the annual operating and program budget in coordination with the Director for Finance & Grants; monitor budget; analyze budget variations and recommend necessary changes; prepare necessary documents for amendments. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of the annual operating, program, and capital outlay budget, for submission to headquarters. Monitor expenditures on a continuous basis to facilitate budget revisions and projections; advise the Director of Finance & Grants of any significant issues. Analyze budget variances and prepare explanations as required. Analyze time charges of staff and provide advice to staff about compliance with the approved operating budget; recommend budgetary changes as necessary. Review the weekly QuickBooks batch submitted to headquarters. Ensure accurate, complete and reliable supporting documentation for payment vouchers. Ensure comprehensive, complete, and effective filing system of payment-related documents. Ensure payroll for local staff is prepared, processed, and distributed timely. Ensure compliance with all Bangladeshi tax laws including deductions of income tax and VAT at source from staff salaries and vendor invoices, as applicable. Assist the Director of Finance & Grants with all audits. Provide guidance and training to staff on procedures and compliance with specific Foundation policies. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & Grants, or the Country Representative or Deputy Country Representative.

Key Requirements: Minimum Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or management. Minimum five years of experience heading a finance department of a local or international NGO, preferably in Bangladesh. Experience in managing the overall organizational budget strongly desired. Strong experience establishing policies and procedures for compliance and internal controls. Previous experience with USAID funded programs and procedures are highly desirable.

Experience in managing funds from more than one donor agency and ensuring compliance with donor regulations including procurement. Experience in managing donor funds in multiple currencies a plus. Ability to safeguard confidential information. Strong computer skills required, including QuickBooks, and ability to learn new software quickly. A good command of both written and spoken English. Accounting certifications preferred.
