Forces And Motion

Work
Work done is the product of an applied force and the
displacement of an object in the direction of the applied
force.
When work is done to an object, energy is transferred
to the object.
Work done is a form of energy.
Unit for work is joule (J).

Question A man pulled a load through a displacement of 20 m with a force 30 N

along a horizontal surface. Calculate the work done by the man.
Solution W = Fs = 30 × 20 = 600 J
