In this APA web quest you will gain resources and skills to make the transition and use of the APA formatting guidelines seem like a walk in the park! Throughout this web quest you will learn various skills that are needed to create an accurate APA formatted paper. At the completion of this Web quest, you will know how to:
Create an outline for an APA Paper Appropriately format a Title Page Demonstrate the proper page layout Properly insert in-text citations Demonstrate the proper layout for references Correctly insert graphs and figures Demonstrate how to use proper heading formats

A Web Quest is a research activity in which you follow certain links to answer questions provided for you. Today, you will conduct the following Web Quest on APA documentation, which you will be using for the Experience Based Theory Critique. When you have completed this sheet, print it out.

DO NOT copy and paste, or directly type word-for-word, the material from these websites in order to answer the questions. You MUST put the information in your own words, though you may occasionally quote material IF AND ONLY IF you use quotation marks. The material in italics should give you hints as to where to look for answers.

What should you do if you are paraphrasing an idea from another work? NOTE: For your paper, you should include a page number! 4. What information do you need in parentheses if you are directly quoting from a work? 6. How long is a long quotation, and how would you format it? 7. Pick a short quotation from the article you read and create a sentence with a sample in-text citation.

How is this different than what you do when you mention the article title in your paper? (Look back at the In-Text Citations section, if needed) Look at Reference List: Articles in Periodicals 10.
