PROJECT ON:

SMART SIGNAL CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH ROAD SPIKES FOR SIGNAL JUMPERS

SMART SIGNAL CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH ROAD SPIKES FOR SIGNAL JUMPERS

Introduction: This particular project is designed for the cities with heavy traffic. Eg: In Bangalore the roads are full jammed every time. Most of the time the traffic will be at least for 100meters .In this distance the traffics police cant hear the siren form the ambulance. Then the ambulance has to wait till the traffic is left. Some times to free the traffic it takes at least 30 minutes .So by this time anything can happen to the patient .So this project avoid these disadvantages. The second feature is the information system in the Ambulance. The system will inform the status of the patient to the hospital as the command giving to the system in the ambulance. According to this project if any ambulance at emergency comes to any traffic post the traffic signals automatically stop the signals and give green signal for this ambulance. Normally, we will have the traffic signal lights programmed for a particular time intervals. But, here we will generate the traffic light signals based on the traffic, on the particular time.

Description: When the ambulance at emergency comes to any traffic post the traffic signals automatically stop the signals and give green signal for this ambulance. The ambulance carries an RF transmitter and RF reader will be there at few meters at the signal. The receiver will receive the signal and the module will send the command to turn on green through the RF and every traffic post will have an RF receiver. So whenever the ambulance comes near the traffic, the ambulance will transmit a code say emergency the receiver will receive this signal .Then it immediately switch off the other signals i.e. it make all the signals red and later make way for ambulance by signalling green. So by doing this the ambulance can go without any problem.

And to monitor the traffic violators and signal jumpers we have found out a special way to stop these irregularities. Whenever there is read signal and when the driver tries to over cross the stop line, it is detected by the IR sensor beside roads i.e. near to traffic signal there are road spikes which shall be activated which the violator cant cross. B coz it might cause damage to the tires & might get puncture. By installing this kind of facility we can stop traffic violators, and the spikes are removed when the signal is green.

Mean time if any priority vehicle (ambulance, fire engine, police, govt vehicle etc) comes that way the signal turns green, spikes are removed. So that it could faster pass through the signals.

Discussion:

Merits
Much easier to get control. It is flexible enough to be used from any location.24 hrs/Day and 7 days a week.

Application

Used in hand gesture based wheel chair Used in war fields This module can be used as information logging for hospital, police station.

Future Enhancements
The module can be equipped with a faster and more capable microcontroller to integrate control of many more devices at the same time. Voice alerts can be used to indicate the various controlling of devices their status of operation. The module can be equipped with other sensing equipment such as light and heat sensors, visible lights etc.

We can include the touch sensors or pressure sensors in the system so that the security is provided whenever intruders try to break the briefcase.
