Primary Objective The Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coordinator is responsible for providing leadership across the NTIS in the provision of S&C services and ensuring the effective delivery of best practice S&C services to NTIS scholarship holders. Key Responsibilities 1. Provide leadership in the provision of strength and conditioning services to NTIS scholars, facilitate strength and conditioning staff development, and ensure an effective coordinated approach to delivery of strength and conditioning services, inclusive of records maintenance on NTIS databases. 2. Develop and implement cutting edge knowledge, resources and methods that will deliver continuous improvement of NTIS strength and conditioning services 3. As a senior staff member of the Athlete Services unit, make significant contribution to the delivery of organisational objectives through strategic planning and budget development. 4. Manage the NTIS gymnasium, inclusive of attaining and maintaining National Sport Science Quality Assurance (NSSQA) strength and conditioning accreditation. . 5. Liaise with other sport institutes throughout Australia to assist the development of the NTIS and contribute to the development of the national elite sport system. Selection Criteria Essential 1. A degree level qualification in sports science or similar relevant discipline. 2. Demonstrated experience and contemporary knowledge in delivering successful strength and conditioning services to athletes across a variety of sports within a high performance multidisciplinary support environment. 3. Demonstrated technical knowledge across a number of individual and team sports particularly fundamental principles, techniques, coaching trends, recovery methods, and best practise approaches to working with athletes and coaches from junior to senior elite levels. 4. Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills with the ability to express ideas and deliver training and education clearly and fluently, both orally and in writing. 5. Demonstrated high level negotiation skills with the ability to build and sustain partnering relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. 6. Eligibility for Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Pro-Structure Professional status or equivalent. 7. An understanding of the NSSQA program as it applies to strength and conditioning. Desirable 1. Postgraduate qualification in sports science or similar relevant discipline. 2. 3 years or more experience in high performance sport. 3. Eligibility for ASCA Pro-Structure Elite status or equivalent.
