QUESTION 3 PARTS OF A PROPOSAL (20 marks) Funstasticz Sdn. Bhd. is a fast growing organization.

Due to the increasing number of newly recruited staff, the Human Resource Manager, Mr. Muhammad Lutfi Latif feels a teambuilding weekend needs to be held. Below is the proposal to be submitted to the CEO of Funstasticz Sdn. Bhd. Bearing in mind the 5C's of communication, complete the parts of this proposal. You are advised to include your own additional information wherever necessary. 1.0 Executive Summary The result of the survey done by the Human Resource Department on the level of awareness of each staff on the organisations mission and vision as well as the newly recruited staff proves that the level of awareness is indeed very low. In order to improve the level of awareness among our staff, we need to conduct a team building weekend requiring the participation of all staff. The recommended event will only cost RM6,000 and will enhance our organisations development and performance in order to sustain in the industry. 2.0 Background Based on the Human Resource Departments records, there is a significant increase in the number of newly recruited staff in our organisation. In addition, a survey has been distributed to all staff (old and new) to determine the level of awareness of each staff on the organisations mission and vision as well as the newly recruited staff. The overall result of the survey indicated the low level of awareness on these two areas. If this low awareness on organisations strategic direction and newly recruited staff continues, we would be risking our organisations development and growth as we are not clear on where we are heading to. Thus, this would affect our companys strategic direction. 3.0 Problems/needs 3.1 The increasing number of newly recruited staff in our organisation has a raised a concern on the awareness of the organisations mission and vision. As an established organisation, each member of our organisation has the responsibility to be well versed with the strategic direction of the organisation. Hence, the low level awareness on organisations mission and vision would risk the development and growth of our organisation. 3.2 This increasing number also led to the low level of awareness among the staff especially the newly recruited ones. As the members of this organisation, we have the responsibility to know each other as we work in a team, thus, forming a family of our own. Therefore, by not knowing each other, it would be harder for us to work in a team which would put our organisations performance at risk. 4.0 Objectives 4.1 The purpose of this proposal is to improve the level of awareness of the staff on the strategic direction of our organisation. This is to ensure that all staff are well versed with the vision and mission of our organisation. 4.2 This proposal also aims to enhance the level of awareness of each staff on every members of the organisation so that we can know each other better and thus, work in a group better. 5.0 Plan of work 5.1 The problem of low level of awareness on the organisations mission and vision can be eliminated by having a team building weekend that requires the

participation of all staff. One of the activities that shall be included in the event is the interpretation of our organisations vision and mission. This would first help the staff to know the organisations strategic direction that assists in the development and growth of our organisation. 5.2 As for the problem of low level of awareness of each staff on every members of the organisation, organising a team building weekend shall be able to overcome or greatly reduce this problem. The event would help us to know each other better. 7.0 Conclusion If the level of awareness of our staff on the strategic direction of the organisation as well as the newly recruited staff is not improved, the development and performance of our company would be at risk. Therefore, this proposal stands as a corrective measure to increase the level of awareness of our staff on these issues. This would enable Funstasticz Sdn. Bhd. to ensure its development and performance in order to sustain in the industry. We recommend that the RM 6,000 be allocated in this quarters gen eral expenses for the execution of the team building weekend. This event would enhance the level of awareness of our staff on the organisations strategic direction and the newly recruited staff that will enhance our organisations development and performance at a very reasonable cost.
