Time

Time is a complex thing. Our perception of it is nearly as important as the substance itself. It is defined as this. The system of those sequential relations that any event has to any other, as past, present, or future; indefinite and continuous duration regarded as that in which events succeed one another. The Greek language, is one the original languages along with Aramaic in the New Testament, uses two different words for time. The first term of time is chronos. The word gives us the word chronology. Chronos time is regular time, time measured by the ticking of a clock. Each second is like the previous one. Chronos time is hunmdrum, regular or normal time; a void that must be filled. Kairos time represents those rich, special, significant, dramatic moments that are packed with meaning. Kairos time is full time, vital time, crucial time, decisive time - God's time. Theologians would call such time as the moment of revelation. Now kairos time is a key word in the New Testament. Jesus came preaching, he said, "The time fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Mark 1:14 And the word that Jesus used here was kairos time. As it was a unique time. The life of the Lord was filled with many kairos moments.

How long has it been since you had new insights, moments of repentance, loving experiences or inspiration? God is calling people of all classes and creeds to choose right

now to serve Him according to His special task or way that He has designed for them. Some will respond. But many more will not. It's because they are accustomed to routine and traditions. Therefore they hold Him far away, because they esteem the riches, pleasures or make up of their lives more important than Him. Thus, in doing so, they will not allow God to operate and penetrate their lives, and bring about a greater glory for them and Him. Life is packed with kairos moments. My prayer is that we won't miss them. Rather, that we would seize and celebrate them all.

Here are some interesting and inspiring quotes about time. "Time is free, but it is priceless, Nobody owns it, but everyone uses it. Nobody can keep it, however all may spend it. Once you have lost it, it can never be brought back by any means." Unknown Author "Time is an equal opportunity employer. Everybody has the same exact number of hours and minutes each day. Rich people can't buy more hours. Scientists will never invent new minutes. And you can't save time to spend it on another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time you've wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow." Unknown Author "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
