ARIZONA COMMON SENSE April 27, 2013 For Many Years, it was a Tucson May Day ritual, when crowds of left wing Pro-Raza Activists, led by Pima County Legal Defender Isabel Garcia, would march to Armory Park to express their solidarity with Open Border Policy and Amnesty for the estimated 25 million or more Mexican Illegal Aliens now in this country. On April 10, 2006, more than 15,000 gathered in Armory Park to listen to government speakers advocate the overthrow of the American government, to waive Mexican Flags, to stomp on American Flags, to throw frozen water bottles at old ladies

sitting in lawn chairs waiving American Flags, as documented by the TPD After Action Report dated May 10, 2006. In 2006 the Pro Raza Movement was at its zenith; Congress was moving towards Comprehensive Immigration Reform, and the success of the Raza movement was all but assured. Then, on April 10, 2006, 15 American counter protestors gathered on the Armory Park Shuffleboard Court to shout their defiance: Hell NO!, Mexico! they said. Arizona will Never be

Through a bullhorn, Tucson Community Activist Roy Warden told the marchers: Your leadership has betrayed you! Cesar Chavez violently opposed Mexican Illegal aliens! They took jobs away from members of his Farm Workers Union! Return to Mexico! Resume Zapatas revolution! Dont come here to feed off the table scraps of Gringos! The counter protestors Burned two Mexican opposition to Amnesty and Mexican foreign policy. Flags in

The Pro-Raza crowd erupted; some leaped on the backs of TPD officers; one, wearing a Mexican Flag as a cape, kicked a fallen officer in the face. The police fired tear gas; six demonstrators were arrested for felony assaults on TPD officers. However Pima County Attorney later dropped the charges in a political accommodation to the left wing. The first American in-your-face street counter demonstration against the Pro Raza movement, literally a Shot Heard Around the World, was a rousing success.

Significantly; when May Day 2007 rolled around the number of Pro-Raza street demonstrators was reduced by half, when less that 8,000 marched for Amnesty. On May Day 2008 Pro-Raza enthusiasm was further diminished, the number of Pro-Raza demonstrators was again reduced, and reduced again in 2009, 2010, 2011. In 2012 less than 250 participated. Pathetically; in 2012 some of the organizers wore ridiculous Angel Wings made from bed sheets, interposed themselves between their marchers and Roy Warden, flapped their arms to obscure the speaker, but they could not obscure the message, which again, was the same as it had been for every year since 2006: Your leadership has betrayed you! Cesar Chavez violently opposed Mexican Illegal aliens! They took jobs away from members of his Farm Workers Union! Return to Mexico! Resume Zapatas revolution! Dont come here to feed off the table scraps of Gringos! Imagine that! The Pro-Raza Movement had 15,000 participants in 2006; last year they had less than 250. And now, embarrassed by their low turnout, they no longer have the courage to march to Armory Park. As Leonard Cohen said in the sixties, Isnt it a long way down! Roy Warden roywarden@hotmail.com
