Disassembly & Assembly


DISASSEMBLY

Nokia 6070 disassembly.

You will need the following tools: The rework jig, the SS-93, metal tweezers, a torx plus screwdriver size 6, the SS-42 camera removal tool, a dental pick and a DC plug.

Unlock and remove the C-COVER ASSEMBLY.

Gently release both plastic clips of the A-COVER ASSEMBLY with the SS-93.

Remove the A-COVER ASSEMBLY, starting from the bottom.

Release the KEYMAT and cover the inner side window with a plastic film.

Also protect the LCD with a plastic film.

Carefully release the four hooks of the UI PWB HOLDER and lift it out.

Push down on the locking clip as shown. The UI PWB can now be slid out.

Undo the four screws in the order shown.

Carefully release both metal latches of the UI SHIELD.

This enables you to push out the ENGINE MODULE.

Open the Flex connector with great care.

You can now remove the UI SHIELD ASSEMBLY.

Use the dental pick to ease up the EARPIECE, and remove it with tweezers

Release the plastic clips of the DISPLAY and remove it.

Lift out the VIBRA....

.... and the MICROPHONE.

Use the DC PLUG to remove the DC JACK.

Lever the POWER KEY up out of its guides.

Carefully unlock the VOLUME KEY with a twisting and pushing motion of the SS-93 and remove it.

Release the clips securing the IHF LID ASSEMBLY with the dental pick and remove the assembly.

Use the dental pick to ease up the IHF speaker, and remove it with tweezers.

Ensure that no traces of adhesive remain.

Remove the SIM GRIP.

Use the rework jig when working on the CAMERA MODULE.

Carefully lever up the CAMERA SHIELD and remove it.

Unlock the CAMERA MODULE with the SS-42.

Use the other end of the SS-42 to lift the CAMERA MODULE out.

The disassembly procedure is now complete.

ASSEMBLY

Nokia 6070 assembly.

You will need the following tools: The soldering jig, the SRT-6, the SS-93, metal tweezers, a torque screwdriver with a torx plus size 6 bit and a DC Plug.

Use the rework jig while working with the CAMERA MODULE.

Insert the CAMERA MODULE into its seating, paying attention to the alignment tab.

Gently press the CAMERA MODULE in position with the SRT-6.

Fit the CAMERA SHIELD, noting the alignment slot.

Place the SIM GRIP.

Use a new adhesive when replacing the IHF SPEAKER.

Note the alignment tab. Press the speaker gently into position when it is aligned.

Fit the IHF LID ASSEMBLY: push it lightly into place and ensure that all snaps are engaged.

Insert the VOLUME KEY as shown. Only one position is possible.

Insert the POWER KEY and push it into place.

Use the DC Plug to insert the DC JACK.

Avoid damage to the spring contacts when fitting the MICROPHONE.

Insert the VIBRA.

Place the ENGINE MODULE in the C-COVER.

Remove the protective film and place the LCD in the UI SHIELD.

Ensure that all clips are clicked into their places.

Position the connector as shown.

Use a new adhesive when replacing the EARPIECE.

Place the UI SHIELD ASSEMBLY on the engine module, snap it into position, ensuring that the display connector is closed correctly.

Cover the Display with protective film.

Insert the four screws of the engine module.To prevent damage to the plastic threads, first turn the screws slightly to the left to engage the threads, then tighten them lightly.

Set the correct torque...

... and tighten the screws in the order shown.

Slide the UI PWB into the UI PWB HOLDER.

Place the assembly in the B-COVER and click all the snaps into place.

Fit the KEYMAT, ensuring its correct positioning.

Remove the protective films.

Fit the A-COVER, beginning from the top and snap it closed.

Complete the assembly with the C-COVER, beginning from the top.

Check the window for cleanliness.

Troubleshooting
Power & connections
Power on

Battery Connector Check and clean the spring contacts of the Battery Connector.

Power Switch Check the mechanical and electrical condition of the Power Switch. Replace the Power Switch if necessary (Level 2 only).

Power Key Check the mechanical condition of the Power Key. Replace the Power Switch if necessary.

Charging

DC Jack Check and clean the spring contacts of the DC-Jack. Replace the DC-Jack if necessary.

DC Jack pads Check and clean the pads on the Engine Module.

Battery Connector Check and clean the spring contacts of the Battery Connector.

Fuse (L2) Check the resistance of the Fuse 0 .If the value does not match, replace the Fuse (Level 2 only).

Service GSM

GSM Antenna pads Check and clean the Antenna pads.

GSM Antenna Pins Check and clean the GSM Antenna Pins on the Antenna Assy. Replace the Antenna Assy if necessary.

SIM

SIM Connector (Level 2 only) Check and clean the contacts of the SIM Connector on the Engine Module. Replace the SIM Connector (Level 2 only) if necessary.

SIM Grip Check the mechanical condition of the SIM Grip. Replace the SIM Grip if necessary.

User Interface & connectors


Display

Display Connector (Level 2 only) Check and clean the Display Connector on the Engine Module. Replace the display connector (Level 2 only) if necessary.

LCD Module Check and clean the LCD Module and Connector. Replace the LCD Module if necessary.

Keymat

Board to Board Connector Check and clean the Board to Board Connector on the Engine Module. Replace the board to board connector (Level 2 only) if necessary.

UI Module Assy Check and clean the pads on the UI Module Assy. Replace the UI Module Assy if necessary

Domesheet Check and clean the Domesheet on the UI Module Assy. Replace the UI Module Assy if necessary.

UI B2B Holder Check the mechanical condition of the UI PWB Holder. Replace the UI PWB Holder if necessary.

Keymat Check the mechanical condition of the Keymat. Replace the Keymat if necessary.

Earpiece

Earpiece pads Check and clean the Earpiece Pads on the Engine Module.

Earpiece Check and clean the spring contacts of the Earpiece. Replace the UI Shield Assy if necessary.

IHF Speaker

IHF Speaker pads Check and clean the IHF Pads on the Engine Module.

IHF Pin Check and clean the IHF Pin in the IHF Lid Assy. Replace the IHF Lid Assy if necessary.

IHF Speaker Check and clean the spring contacts of the IHF Speaker. Replace the IHF Speaker if necessary.

Microphone

Microphone Pads Check and clean the Microphone Pads on the Engine Module.

Microphone Check and clean the spring contacts of the Microphone. Replace the Microphone if necessary.

Volume

Switch (Level 2 only) Check the mechanical and electrical condition of the Switch. Replace the Switch (Level 2 only) if necessary.

Volume Key Check the mechanical condition of the Volume Key and Actuator. Replace the Volume Key if necessary.

Applications & components


Camera

Camera Connector Check and clean the VGA Camera Connector on the Engine Module.

Camera Check and clean the Lens and pads of the VGA Camera Module. Replace the Camera Module if necessary.

Vibra

Vibra Pads Check and clean the Vibra Pads on the Engine Module.

Vibra Motor Check and clean the spring contacts of the Vibra. Replace the Vibra if necessary.
