1. Where did you get the ideas and materials for this unit plan? Include website names & URLs, book titles and authors. I took most of my lesson ideas from the 3rd Grade Houghton Mifflin Social Studies
textbook Communities. For Lesson Two I used templates created by one of my favorite lesson writers, Hilary Lewis; Scholastics Professional Books; and Scholastics Mini-books Our Nation. I found the free bookmarkers template for Lesson Six online from TeachersPayTeachers.

Childrens Books: We the People the Constitution of the United States by Peter Spier (ISBN #0385235895) Shh! Were Writing the Constitution by Jean Fritz. We the Kids a Preamble to the Constitution of the United States by David Catrow (ISBN #9780803725539) 2. What were the easiest and most challenging parts of writing this unit plan? I love this grade level , so it was fun creating it. I know I will use these lessons in the future and it was a great experience creating them. It was easy picking out supportive materials, such as the childrens books and doing the school and classroom rules/responsibility review will be fun and meet multiple goals at the same time. This is a favorite concept area for me and I think I could make a more elaborate unit plan by adding to it in the future. 3. What suggestions do you have for yourself for the next time you write unit plans? Time has been an issue for me throughout this process. I always try and start right off the bat, but with a hectic schedule I still struggling to make it all come together in time. I hope that when Im teaching I will have many of these unit lesson plans prepared in advance. That is, after I find out what grade Ill be teaching. I think I will work on staying within a sequence of

events/lessons for my next Unit 4. For this unit, I went out of order and against its natural flow and I believe it took longer and created more review work for me. I will want to go in order for my next unit lessons, less going backwards.
