In addition, the peripheral blood stem cell program for autologous bone marrow transplants started in earnest when I served at the Apheresis Department's Medical Director. This included the autologous bone marrow transplant program for advanced stage breast cancer patients by harvesting circulating peripheral blood stem cells by apheresis.
