CLLI – A result of 3-years of serious R&D!
While the whole world was satisfied with accepting LIGHTNING as a destructive force of
nature that could not be contained, CAL-LAB inventor Paul Chang had different ideas.
The Isolation-idea was prayer-inspired, but Calculations were complicated!
He set out to look for a DREAM-CIRCUIT that would not attempt to contain BUT would
ISOLATE the full force of a lightning strike. In 1994, 3 years after he started working on the
DREAM-CIRCUIT, he had found it! Thus, CAL-LAB Lightning Isolator or CLLI was born.
With correct calculations, CLLI also effectively protects equipment users!
While drafting for his patent filing, calculations indicated that the DREAM-CIRCUIT not only
would effectively protect equipment, but would also effectively prevent equipment users
from being injured or killed by the terrible forces of lightning!
He was so excited and confident in the performance of his invention that he was fool-hardy
enough to offer ‘PERFORMANCE-GUARANTEE’ to each CLLI from 1996 to 2000! The only
condition was: that the CLLI must be certified-correctly installed in each set-up.
15-years & 1,000,000 units of CLLI later, despite some misunderstandings, there
was no record of equipment-damage where installations were certified
correctly done! A truly near-perfect TRACK-record!
This ISOLATION-Technique was a major breakthrough!
This invention was new, viable & fulfilled all the ideal conditions in 1994
and the Patent Engineers at USPTO agreed! Thus, grant of patent.
What then are the differences between Lightning Isolator when compared to an
ordinary Surge-Protector?
The answers to this question are:
Ordinary Surge-Protector tries but fail to ARREST a powerful lightning
surge with MOV or Gas-arrestor, but a Lightning Isolator employs such
components only to detect the surge, measure & quickly ISOLATE your
