Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Students will be able to describe the operation of representative government. I will know that students will be able to describe the operation of representative government if they can participate in the class discussion as well as correctly complete their study guides.

G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest part of the lesson will be explaining why we have different branches of government and why we use a system of checks and balances. It will be easy to explain that power needs to be distributed. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging part to teach will be discussing the details of how laws work when the federal and state laws do not agree. I think it will be harder to go into the scenarios of the law and what happens when a law needs to be changed because it is a longer process/explanation. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I can have the students write a couple paragraphs on an amendment they think is most important; freedom of speech or freedom of religion. They can write a persuasive paper on the topic. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? I will work one on one with students who do not grasp the concepts. We can go over the vocabulary and look at diagrams in the chapter. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I dont think I need to change anything about the lesson. I think it will easy for the students to follow along and understand. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? Finding an activity to do or a writing prompt was most difficult. The lesson didnt offer many in the textbook. I wanted to have the students do an activity other than the study guide.
