Ecommerce Startup Internship Description: True Goods is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Ecommerce Startup Internship Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced socially responsible and quality curated e-commerce organization to join our close-knit team of start-up professionals. The Digital Marketing / Social Media internship will provide hands-on exposure to the world of online digital and social media marketing. Interns will be part of a small team of seasoned startup professionals and learn the ins and outs of our business. Candidates are expected to have experience with social media on (at least) a personal level (use on a business level is preferred). They must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into a business marketing strategy, not just selling to our customers, but building long-lasting relationships by providing value to them. Interns must be able to assist in formulating social media plans (once ample information is provided to you), and then carry them out (with our assistance). Theyll also be expected to measure and document the impact of social media, and then suggest action-steps to increase impact. Interns will be key members of the core business teams, working directly with the CEO, Marketing Director, and Web Design/Development team to help manage multiple projects relevant to the strategic business goals of True Goods. Interns will be performing the following tasks: - Creating new profiles and pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.) - Uploading videos, photo albums, etc. - Finding users to follow/friend/like our business - Writing and posting blog posts/tweets/updates, etc. - Tracking the growth and impact of social media on our business - Replying to comments, messages, etc. - Report findings to the team - Consistently learn and grow, ask pertinent questions - Create and upload Twitter, Facebook and YouTube backgrounds - Participate on weekly team meetings/calls Skills and attributes interns are expected to have: - Excellent written and verbal communication, strong content editing skills - Be creative with an eye for design - Ability to develop a detailed and strategic social media plan - Knowledge of video editing software: iMovie, Final Cut, or Windows Live Movie Maker is a plus (not necessary but preferred) - Knowledge of digital media software: Photoshop or other graphic design software is preferred - Willingness to create video blogs, write press releases, and Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest posts daily - Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence - Ability to identify a target market and speak to that consumer through social media - Ability to contribute individually, as well as participate in cross-functional collaborative teams

The Fine Print: All internships are either paid or for academic credit, and will provide qualified students and adults with relevant professional skills in various areas related to startups, ecommerce, environmental health, social responsibility, retail product management, online editorial, and marketing/communications. If seeking for-credit positions, candidates should be enrolled in an accredited school and be able to provide proof of school credit for the internship. It is the applicants responsibility to set up the internship with their school. Prefer candidates with a major in Marketing, Communications, Social Media, or equivalent, looking to learn and gain experience in the field.
