BACKGROUND & PURPOSE

With an increasingly compe//ve global economy, eorts to increase college readiness and matricula/on are aMrac/ng more aMen/on as a school reform. The literature suggests that pursuit of college and professional careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is not deterred by a lack of talent or interest, but rather by students inability to transform their interests into realis/c strategies. The Raising Awareness and Interest in STEM Educa/on (RAISE) program promotes a school-wide STEM culture in which all students can see themselves as being global STEM 21st Century learners.
