F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? The students will complete The Vocab and Study Guide included in the Unit Resources on page 17. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. If the students can accurately complete the study guide, it will show that they understand how the Native Americans in the southwest lived their lives. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? The easiest to teach will probably be the need for water. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging to teach will probably be the ways in which the people got water. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I will follow up this lesson by having students read the Extended Lesson biographies on pages 58 and 59. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For students who dont grasp the concepts, I will review them before starting the next lesson plan, and ask questions using some of the same concepts. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I might need to change the closure to better reinforce why the Hopi people needed water. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part was trying to figure out how to assess the students.
