The Proposal

Campaign cum Career Development on Insurance

This document is submitted with the intent of organizing insurance campaign cum career development workshop on insurance with the support of Apex College.

Dear Sir, We, the students of BBA-BI 5th and 7th semester, have an honor to present you with a plan of Campaign cum Career Development on Insurance targeting the undergraduate level students of Apex College. The campaign will focus in increasing awareness among the students on insurance and explore the related career opportunities. The program will be facilitated by national level figures and expertise of insurance fraternity. To begin with, Apexians will be included in the first phase of campaigning. It will gradually be expanded throughout Nepal to involve all the undergraduate level students throughout nation marking Apex College as the cornerstone of the entire process.

We most humbly request you to approve the campaign and expect valuable support, from all the aspects, throughout the process. We are sure this program will widen their knowledge about insurance and introduce students to job positions and career in Nepalese insurance market, and elevate Apex College as a centre of excellence in Nepal. Introduction
In the world full of uncertainties, insurance products are designed to minimize the risk facing by society. Hence usage of insurance products to be financially secure in the event of happening of loss is must. However, statistics shows that, even after the law imposed by the government for abroad job seekers to be compulsorily insured; only about 6% of the Nepalese population is insured. One factor contributing to this is poverty and other major factor is the lack of awareness about the importance and usage of insurance products. Hence, as students of insurance and future professionals in the field we plan to initiate a campaign that will focus on increasing awareness among the students and explore the possible career opportunities in the related field. Not only that students will be benefitted through increased insights about current market scenario of the Nepalese insurance market and So, we have thought of organizing a campaign, intending to educate the students about insurance and different facets of the topic, so they learn more and apply it as well.

Since its establishment, Apex College has always focused on the multidimensional development of its students. Whether by conducting program or else, Apex College targets to endorse hidden potentiality of students. In the 21st century, practical knowledge value more than theoretical knowledge. And insurance is such an industry where student can do nothing only with theoretical knowledge. So, Apex College is only an institution in the country that focuses on learning by practice. For this Apex college manages guest lecture, employer lecture and even hires top professional in the field of insurance.

Today new types of enterprises are emerging, and the way the business has been conducted has tremendously changed. They focus on a set of core values that have made them successful, and also distinct from others. For years, we too have been practicing a set of core values which have been the guiding principles in every decision we make at the college. Apex is a small but well integrated collaborative community of students, faculty, staff and alumni with a common goal of both academic and professional excellence. Apex College aims to develop principled and insightful leaders who can transform organizations and the society we live in, through innovative management education, research, and networks.

To promote insurance industry in Nepal, Apex College is only an institution that have been providing BBA-BI program since six years and conducts various guest lecture time to time. In the entire session of BBA-BI, Apex College has taught us to focus on safety rather on security, which is the main principle of insurance.

As insurance has wide scope in our country, Apex College with the intent to develop human capital honors such programs and will honor in future. We appreciate of being Apexian and once again we salute Apex for conducting such program. Program Schedule: Day I: Life Insurance 1. Introduction about the program. 2. Welcome Speech by Principal. 3. An overview on life insurance and prospects of insurance in Nepal:- CEO, NLIC. 4. Interaction session. Day II: Non-Life Insurance 1. An overview on non-life insurance and prospects of insurance in Nepal:- CEO, Premier Insurance. 2. Interaction session. Day III: Career Development 1. Workshop on career development on insurance. 2. Interaction session. 3. Certificate distribution. 4. Closing Speech by Principal.

Scope of the Campaign


This event shall be one of the major even in the sector of insurance field at Apexs current calendar year. The main scopes of this campaign are: 1. We aspire to provide career suggestions for the students, help them seek directions and advice. 2. We intend to help the students to acquire knowledge about insurance and its applications such that they will be benefitted academically as well as individual basis. 3. We assume this program as a beginning, we wish to spread this campaign and reach to the locals, aware them about this topic.

Objectives of the Campaign


To increase Awareness on Insurance. To encourage interaction between students and professionals. To provide knowledge about Nepalese insurance markets and prospects of development of markets. To provide an excellent opportunity for Apex College to develop its human capital as well as it's marketing and branding. To help students to grow their network. To explore Career Development in the field of insurance.
