STEEL CITY SLAM BASKETBALL HOSTS THE 2013 CAN/AM SLAMBOREE The Steel City Slam (of Sault Ste. Marie) has hit the hardwood for its inaugural Ontario Basketball season as members of the Ontario Basketball Association. This weekend they get to play in front of family and friends in the Saults first Slamboree, featuring teams from Timmins, Sault Michigan, and Sault Ontario. In addition there is a chance to catch some of our young up and comers as players from throughout Northern Ontario will be playing together on the U-15 Northern Selects team. The U-19 Steel City Slam team will be using this weekends competition as a tune up for the 2013 Ontario Basketball Championships, being held later this month. The U-19 Steel City Slam club is proud to have players representing 6 different high schools in the region. Some key members include the 2013 leagues Most Valuable Player and Referees Award winner Anthony Iacoe, as well as elite players and Sault Ste. Marie high school all stars such as: Mitch Mazzuca, Anthony Bruni, and Jonah Fogg. Below is the 2013 Steel City Slam Roster, as well as a schedule for all of the games this weekend. Come on out to watch some fast paced action as its not too often you can see all of these young talented student-athletes play together on one team. In addition all U-19 games will be played with FIBA rules, which include a 24 second shot clock.
