Research Objectives This research is significantly bringing a few objectives to achieve a goal of the study such as: 1. To study the various dimensions of government-support programs in business growth. 2. To analyze the relationship between government-support programs and business growth. 3. To examine the level of importance among three dimensions of government-support programs namely financial assistance, training assistance and marketing assistance towards business growth. 1.3 Research Questions In this research, the researcher is would like to know a relationship between GSPs and business growth by a few questions:1. To what extend does government-support programs which comprises in being practices by Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs)? 2. Do government-support programs contribute positively to business growth? 3. Which sub dimensions of government-support programs is most important towards business growth? 1.1. RESEARCH QUESTIONS With full concern of the halal market background and problem statement stated in previous section, this study had listed and attempts to answer following research questions; a) How far halal food enterprises in Melaka have and concerned towards their halal certified and lean concept in their business practice? b) How far the level of basic knowledge by halal food businesses towards lean as solution for their performance improvement? c) What is the current practice imply by the enterprises to support their business performance? d) Are the enterprises actually aware about certain tools of lean management concept? (to list the tools, if there are any) e) What is the awareness and acceptance level of Malaysian halal food enterprises in Melaka towards the concept of lean management concept? f) Do factors of practice, organization and environment impact the level of acceptance of lean management concept? g) Is there are any relationship between lean acceptance towards business performance of the businesses? h) What are the critical success criteria of lean management concept acceptance in the halal food industry? 1.2. RESEARCH OBJECTIVES For Malaysia to become a high-income country and achieve developed nation status, halal industry are critical as this sector has the biggest potential to increase its contribution to GDP, promote gainful employment, strengthen and reinforce the country's competitiveness in the global market and thereby enhance the social well-being of the nation and its people. As mentioned in earlier part, Malaysia was looking forward to becoming the world halal hub so; the effectiveness and efficiency of halal businesses operation and management would determine this vision. However, for more effective compilation of data, this research will only cover the halal food businesses in Melaka. For that reason, this study had listed three main objectives, which are described in phases: 1. Investigation phase: To profiling the halal food industry in Malaysia towards lean concept acceptance and adoption. 2. Proposal phase: To describe the application of lean concept to the halal food enterprises in Malaysia. 3. Analysis phase: To determine the critical success factors of lean concept by halal food enterprises in Malaysia.
