GrowthCraft is a compilation of mods created by the one developer which aims to add more features and improve the agriculture/farming aspect of Mojangs game MineCraft while still keeping its simplicity and avoiding overcomplicating it. The plants added to the game are carefully designed that they are not just exact copies of the vanilla plants or other plants added by this modpack. The developer aims to create a unique experience and/or hobby in farming the plants and on the same time avoiding repetitiveness. The same thing can be also said with the harvest from the plants, they are not simply used as foods but can be crafted into other items which will either aid the player in his/her adventures or escalate fun in the game while still keeping the game balance in play. The modpack will also not only add additional crops to the game but also other features which will help the player in terms of efficiency (such as surface spawning watermelon blocks, automatic fish catching, etc.). More mods will be added overtime since GrowthCraft also have MineCrafts theme, endless possibilities. Enjoy the mods!

GrowthCraft Core is a compilation classes used by most of the GrowthCraft mods. It is created to lessen the amount of classes downloaded from the individual mods and on the same time ease up updating them since they only use one file/class.

GrowthCraft Core: Booze is a child of GrowthCraft Core which deals with mods that adds juice/booze features: GrowthCraft Apples GrowthCraft Grapes GrowthCraft Hops

It adds three blocks to the game which have their own unique roles in the juice/booze-making feature of the mods. Fruit Press Default Block ID: 499 The Fruit Press. The fruit press is used to press the contents of the Fruit Press Bin into its Young Booze. See CRFT 1 for the crafting recipe.

CRFT 1: Fruit Press crafting recipe.

The press is operated by redstone and has two toggle-able states like a piston; the retracted and extended state.

SCRN 1: From left to right; Retracted state, Extended fully state, and Extended half-way state.

As denoted by SCRN 1, the Extended state is further divided into two, fully and half-way. A fully extended state means that theres actually pressing going on (i.e., the Fruit Press Bin is filled with fruits and is not yet in juice/booze). On the other hand, a half-way extended state means it rejects further pressing. This can either mean that the Fruit Press Bin is not filled enough or the fruits are already in Young Booze. Fruit Press Bin Default Block ID: 498 The Fruit Press Bin. The Fruit Press Bin is the block where the bushels of fruits for juice/booze pressing is placed. It needs to be filled with three bushels of the same fruit before the Fruit Press starts to press it. After the fruits turn into its young juice/booze form (notable by the change in texture of the contents), it can be scooped by a bucket to be used on a Brew Barrel (for further juice/booze improvements) or by three glass bottles for quick usage (although it cant be further improved). Currently, it accepts two kinds of fruit: Apples -> Young Apple Cider Grapes -> Young Grape Wine

SCRN 2: An empty fruit press bin.

For further information on what each of the juice/booze does, see they respective mod section in this manual. For the crafting recipe, see CRFT 2.

CRFT 2: Fruit Press Bin crafting recipe.

Brew Barrel Default Block ID: 497 The Brew Barrel. The Brew Barrel is used to further improve young juices/boozes. See CRFT 3 for the crafting recipe.

CRFT 3: Brew Barrel crafting recipe.

GUI 1: Brew Barrel GUI empty

The Brew Barrel GUI is divided into 5 parts: The circle shows how much time left in the brewing process. The left icon inside the circle shows that Nether Wart is used. The right icon inside the circle shows what kind of dust (Redstone or Glowstone) is used. The bottle icon shows the type of juice/booze is inside the barrel (i.e., Apple Cider, Young Grape Wine, Extended Ale, etc.) The three slots in the right shows the amount left inside the barrel (those are not item slots).

GUI 2: Brew Barrel GUI in action.

The Brew Barrel works solely with right-clicking while the wanted item is held. To start the brewing process, there must be at least 1/3 amount left and the juice/booze is still brew-able (means that its not yet in Extended or Potent state). The Brew Barrel currently accepts the following for maturation/brewing: Apple Cider Grape Wine Ale

The process starts with a Bucket of Young Juice/Booze (which is either received from a Fruit Press Bin or a Cauldron). It must be first matured by using a Nether Wart on it. Having it matured will remove the Young prefix and increases the duration of the effect. After this, the player has the option to either use a Redstone (increases the duration more) or a Glowstone Dust (increases potency/effect power but decreases duration). The used dust is not reversible; this means that the player cannot use a Redstone if he/she has already used a Glowstone Dust. After the whole brewing process is finished, the player can use a bucket to scoop the juice/booze to relocate it to another Brew Barrel or to use glass bottles to use/drink the juice/booze. Take note that you cannot return the filled glass bottles in the Brew Barrel so be careful to not accidentally use it while the brewing is in process. To see what kind of effects the juice/booze gives, see their respective mod sections in this manual.

10

Wait whatbooze? Yeah booze (or juice in the Minor Friendly mode). These are items added by: GrowthCraft Apples Apple Cider GrowthCraft Grapes Grape Wine GrowthCraft Hops Ale

They act like potions in the sense that they give the user with beneficial effects and the materials required are easier to get compared to the ones used by regular potions (which are mostly monster drops). Along with the potion effects, it also gives the user with food effects (restore hunger and saturation bar). Although hugely beneficial at first glance, theres a risk in using these kinds of items which makes them undependable. Using/drinking them has a chance to inflict a Nausea effect to the user (the effect the player gets while using a Nether Portal) for 45 seconds. For more information regarding the numbers (durations, chances, hunger points, etc.), see the respective tables of each juice/booze on their own mod section in this manual.

11

GrowthCraft Apples makes it possible to plant apples (its core) underneath oak leaves and make them farm-able like cocoas. The apples can also be brewed into Apple Cider.

SCRN 3: Four (three ripe ones and one young) apples found in a forest biome.

12

Apple Core Default Item ID: 5000 The Seed. The Apple Core can be obtained from apples by either eating it or crafting it (in case the player is full).

CRFT 4: Apple Core crafting recipe.

SCRN 4: When eaten, an Apple will give 1 Apple Core.

The Apple Core can be planted (right-click) underneath oak leaves. It will then undergo four visual stages until its ready to harvest.

13

Apple (Block) Default Block ID: 500; cant be legally obtained in-game. The Block. Once planted from an Apple Core, it will then undergo four growth stages, with the fourth one the stage where you can harvest it.

SCRN 5: Growth stages of the apple block. In order from left to right.

Stages 1, 2, and 3 will not drop anything when destroyed, so caring them is a must. On the other hand, the final (4) stage can drop the Apple in two ways; either destroyed or sheared. When destroyed, the block will be removed and will drop the apple. When sheared, the block will revert back to stage 1 and will still drop the apple in the cost of -1 durability to the shear, thus creating a growth cycle. And also, at stage 4, there is a random (albeit low) that the apple will spontaneously drop the apple and revert back to stage 1. So prepare your hoppers! (This feature can be disabled through the config file). Same thing with other crops, you can use bone meal to advance to another growth stage.

14

Apple Bushel Default Item ID: 5001 Apple Cider Default Item ID: 5002 Bucket of Cider Default Item ID: 5003 The Booze. To produce Apple Ciders, the player needs 3 Apple Bushels, Fruit Press, Fruit Press Bin, and a Brew Barrel. See CRFT 2 for Apple Bushel crafting recipe.

CRFT 5: Apple Bushel crafting recipe.

After acquiring 3 apple bushels, proceed by pressing the apples in the Fruit Press Bin and start pressing. It will produce Young Apple Cider which can be scooped with an empty bucket (for Brew Barrel use) or an empty glass bottle (for quick usage).

SCRN 6: From left to right; 1/3 Apples, 2/3 Apples, 3/3 Apples, Young Apple Cider. Contents of a Fruit Press Bin.

The Bucket of Young Apple Cider can be placed on a Brew Barrel to further improve the booze into Apple Cider, Extended Apple Cider, and Potent Apple Cider. See TBLE 1 for a list of effects for each booze.

16

GrowthCraft Flowers gives another way to farm roses and dandelions (other than using bone meal all-over the lawn). In addition to this, it also adds another flower for the magenta dye which can spread lily pads to its vicinity. Rose Seeds Default Item ID: 5015 Dandelion Seeds Default Item ID: 5016 The Seeds. These can be initially obtained by crafting 4 rose/dandelion in a cross-shape with a bone meal in the middle. It can be also obtained by shearing/destroying the flower bush (explained later on).

CRFT 6: Rose Seeds crafting recipe.

CRFT 7: Dandelion Seeds crafting recipe.

These seeds can be planted at the top of a grass block and will undergo different growth stages.

17

Rose Bush Default Block ID: 512; cant be legally obtained in-game. Dandelion Bush - Default Block ID: 513; cant be legally obtained in-game. The Blocks. Once planted from a seed, it will then undergo five growth stages, with the five one the stage where you can harvest it.

SCRN 7: Growth stages of the flower bushes before harvest. In order from left to right, stages 1, 2, 3, and 4.

18

SCRN 8: The final stage of bush growth (rose in the right, dandelions in the left).

The light level on the area of the bush is a factor for the bush growth. The higher the light level is, the faster it will grow. Stages 1 and 2 will not drop anything when destroyed. Stage 3 and 4 will drop 0-3 seeds when destroyed. When sheared, it will drop 2-4 seeds and will revert back to Stage 2. Stage 5 will drop 4 flowers and 0-3 seeds when destroyed. When sheared, it will drop 4 flowers and revert back to Stage 3. Same thing with other crops, you can use bone meal to advance to another growth stage.

19

Water Lily Default Block ID: 514. Theuh, extra? The water lily is a new flower added by the mod. It will spawn naturally in swamp biomes. It is around 175% rarer than a regular lily pad.

SCRN 9: A comparison between the rarities of lily pads and the water lily flower. There are 2-3 water lily flowers in the picture compared to the huge amount of lily pads.

Unlike lily pads, water lilies cant be placed directly on water (right-clicking the water) but they can only placing it on an adjacent block. With water diagonally downward adjacent to it (See SCRN 10).

SCRN 10: Click in there to place the water lily.

20

When placed on a still water block (source water), it will spawn lily pads randomly on the 3x3 surrounding it. The depth of the water where the water lily is planted is a factor to its spread. This means that the deeper the water (until a dirt block) is, the longer it will take for the water lily to spread. If you dont like waiting, you can also apply to bone meal to it to instantly spawn a lily pad.

SCRN 11: Water lily pad spread area.

The water lily can also be crafted into a magenta dye just like the vanilla flowers.

CRFT 8: Magenta Dye crafting recipe.

21

You can also craft the water lily flower in case your neighbor swamp biome ran out of water lily flower.

CRFT 9: Water Lily crafting recipe.

22

GrowthCraft Fishnet adds a new a block to MineCraft which automatically catch fish over time. It is specifically created for those who get frustrated at using the fishing rod because they dont have the quick reflexes needed to catch a fish (like the mod developer). Fishnet Default Block ID: 511 The Block. The Fishnet can be crafted by having three wool blocks at the top and the bottom rows and two wooden planks at the two sides of the middle row, leaving the middle spot empty.

CRFT 10: Fishnet crafting recipe.

The block can be opened like a chest and it has container of one slot. That means it can catch up to a maximum of 64 fish overtime. And also, like other containers (Chest, Dispensers, Droppers, etc.), you can rename its container via an Anvil. To make it catch fish, at least one of the six sides of the fishnet block must be covered with water (either moving or still). Additional water blocks can be added to the 3x3x3 adjacent area of the fishnet to achieve maximum catching rate. This is best represented by the following two pictures (SCRN 12 and SCRN 13). The ice blocks represent water blocks.

23

SCRN 12: At least one of the six sides of the fishnet must be covered with water to make it functional.

SCRN 13: To achieve maximum catching rate, the fishnets 3x3x3 area must be covered with water blocks.

24

GrowthCraft Grapes adds a totally new crop to the game, grapes. The grapes can be eaten or made into wine through a unique process. Grapes Default Item ID: 5004

SCRN 14: A single grape plantation.

The grapes can be eaten for 2 hunger points (1 hunger bar) and has a saturation level the same as apples.

25

Grape Cutting Default Item ID: 5005; The Seeds. Grape Cuttings can be obtained from tall grass with quarter the rarity of wheat seed. They can be planted on tilled soil. They can also be obtained by shearing fruit-bearing vines of the plant (explained later on). Grape Trunk/Vine Default Block IDs: 503, 504; cant be legally obtained ingame. The Block. When a grape seed is planted on a tilled soil, it will create the first stage of the long grape growth. Also note that he tilled soil must have nearby water source so it wont revert back to dirt and destroying your plant. It is also recommended to already have created a proper trellis before planting. See SCRN 15.

SCRN 15: A trellis for grape growth. The trellis supports (the wood planks) are just designs, create your own!

As you can see, the trellis should be 3 bocks high from the ground with the iron fences at the third block. The length of the trellis is not limited to any number; the player can have it as long as you want it to. NOTE: It will only crawl on an Iron Fence. 26

The grape plant will first undergo 7 stages before spreading grape vines and create fruits.

SCRN 16: The seven stages of the grape trunk from left to right in order.

The trunk parts (the one without the leaves) will not drop anything when destroyed. The leafy part will drop the iron fence when destroyed. When sheared, it will revert back into an iron fence. The player can also apply bone meal to either parts of the trunk to instantly advance to the next growth stage. At the final (seventh) stage, the leafy part will then check its sides: If the side is an iron fence, it will spread to it as a grape vine, which will then check its surroundings just like the original vine. If the side is an air block, it will create a fruiting block which will create the grapes to be harvested. The fruiting block/vine/foliage will then undergo three growth stages until it is ready to be harvested. It will drop a grape when destroyed, but when sheared, it will drop a grape and return back into stage one to create another cycle or to be sheared for one grape cutting. The player can also apply bone meal to it to quickly advance to the next growth stage. It is also important to protect the root trunk (the most bottom trunk). When its destroyed, all of its vines will start to decay (destroyed).

27

SCRN 17: A presentation on how the grapevine crawls in a one line trellis. The foliage with violet colors are the fruiting vines/blocks.

SCRN 18: The different growth stages of the fruiting block, in order from left to right.

28

Grape Bushel Default Item ID: 5006 Grape Wine Default Item ID: 5007 Bucket of Wine Default Item ID: 5008 The Booze. To produce Grape Wine, the player needs 3 Grape Bushels, Fruit Press, Fruit Press Bin, and a Brew Barrel. See CRFT 11 for Grape Bushel crafting recipe.

CRFT 11: Grape Bushel crafting recipe

After acquiring 3 grape bushels, proceed by pressing the grapes in the Fruit Press Bin and start pressing. It will produce Young Grape Wine which can be scooped with an empty bucket (for Brew Barrel use) or an empty glass bottle (for quick usage).

SCRN 19: From left to right; 1/3 Grapes, 2/3 Grapes, 3/3 Grapes, Young Grape Wine. Contents of a Fruit Press Bin.

The Bucket of Young Grape Wine can be placed on a Brew Barrel to further improve the booze into Grape Wine, Extended Grape Wine, and Potent Grape Wine. See TBLE 2 for a list of effects for each booze.

30

GrowthCraft Hops adds a totally new crop to the game, hops. The hops, along with wheat, can be brewed ale. The brewing process is made to closely resemble real life brewing but simple enough to fit with MineCrafts standards. Hops Default Item ID: 5009

SCRN 20: A hop plantation.

31

Hop Rhizome Default Item ID: 5010; The Seeds. Hop Rhizomes can be obtained from tall grass with quarter the rarity of wheat seed. They can be planted on tilled soil with a fence on it. They can also be obtained by shearing stage five hop vines (explained later). Hop Vine Default Block IDs: 507, 508; cant be legally obtained in-game. The Block. When a hop rhizome is planted on a tilled soil with a fence, it will produce the first stage of the plant (which looks like four green shoots). To avoid tilled soil dehydration (returning to dirt block), a water source must be nearby. The plant climbs up to four blocks upward.

The plant will undergo 5 stages for each fence before it starts produce hops (see SCRN 22 for visual representation). When sheared, it will drop 1 rhizome. Additional 1-2 rhizomes will be dropped when the plant is sheared on stages four and five. At stage five, the plant/block will start to create hops on its four sides that are air block or free. It will generate the hops one by one. The produced hops will drop one hop when destroyed. Bone meal can be used to instantly advance a plant to next growth stage. It is also important to take care of the root block/part (the most bottom block). If the root is destroyed, its vines will start to decay/destroyed as well.
SCRN 21: A fully grown hop vine/plant.

SCRN 22: Hop Plant growth stages.

32

Wheat Bushel Default Item ID: 5012 Hop Bushel Default Item ID: 5011 Ale Default Item ID: 5013 Bucket of Ale Default Item ID: 5014 The Product. To produce ale, you need 3 wheat bushels, 1 hop bushel, a cauldron, 3 water buckets, an empty bucket, and a Brew Barrel. See their crafting recipes:

CRFT 12: Wheat Bushel crafting recipe.

CRFT 13: Hop Bushel crafting recipe.

To start, place a cauldron full of water at the top of a valid heat source (fire or lava). Fill the cauldron with 3 wheat bushels to start its mashing process (note, shift-right-click the cauldron to place the wheat bushels).

SCRN 23: From left to right; cauldron full of water, 1/3 wheat, 2/3 wheat, full wheat.

33

After a while of cooking, the wheat will then form into gruel (liquid with whitish substances/blobs). To advance, youll need to place the hop bushel to cauldron to start the flavoring process. After a while (shorter than the mashing process), the Young Ale is ready.

SCRN 24: From left to right; gruel, gruel with hops, ready ale, empty cauldron.

The player can either scoop the Young Ale with a bucket to use it on a Brew Barrel or three glass bottles for instant usage. See TBLE 3 for the effects of Ale.
