LAPLANTE began by saying she had received three messages from Columbine Task
Force investigators, however, she did notget a response when she called their pager
numbers.
LAPLANTE explained that she knew Eric HARRIS "really well," but qualified this
saying she had classes with him in the past and that they often spoke behind Blackjack
Pizzawhere he workedand when theybowledat Rock-Nelsowl. She said HARRIS was
always nice and the news of what he had donecame completely as a surprise to her. She
said this wasdue to him neverhavingspoken to her aboutbeing upset at anyone, nor did
he speak of anythi~that would havebeen considered anti-social LAPLANTE added
that she also knew n a casualbasis as he worked with a&,.RRIS at

bowled with themat Rock-N-Bowl during midnight bowling.
LAPLANTE said she had initially recalled having said hello to Eric HARRIS at their
early morning bowling class Aprill0111• 1999. In further reflection she thoughtit may
have been Chris MORRIS, or even possibly Nate DYKEMAN. She could not
specifically recall whom it had been as the three were frequently together, andat thai
point the morning was unrnernorable.
At the time the shooting began LAPLAJ'<TE said she was returning to school from an
off-campus lunch. She explained that she wasriding withCindy SHINNICK on Pierce at
Polk Street when they cameup behind several vehicles waiting in line 10 go into the
school parking lot. They then heardof the shooting on the radio, and severalpolice cars
arrived in the parking lot. She said SHINNICK turned hercar around and as they were
driving from the area they saw students run out of the school. Otherwise, she said they
hadnot seenanything thai appeared unusual at the school that day, nor whenthey
returned.
LAPLANTE again reiterated that this act cameas a complete surprise to her, and that
she hadno priorinclination of this occurring.

drove to Fair Avenue and Pierce, and observed students walking towards them from Clement Park.
