VOICE MAIL Quick Reference Card

Your Mailbox Number


Your voice mailbox number is your 7-digit Genentech telephone number. (e.g. 467-1234)

Accessing Voice Mail While Off-Campus


If you are not using your Genentech telephone to access the voice mail system the process is a little different. 1. 2. Dial local access or toll free access # for voice mail. The voice mail system answers with, You have reached the Genentech message center. If you have a mailbox on this system please press * followed by your mailbox number... Press the * key and then enter your 7 digit mailbox number. The voice mail system should answer with, Hello [name], please enter your security code. Enter your current security code. The voice mail system provides you with a status of the number of new and saved messages in your mailbox.

Temporary Security Code


The temporary security code of your new voice mailbox is 000000 (6 zeroes). You will be prompted to create a new security code during the initial tutorial. Choose a security code that is between 6 and 15 digits. The first time you access your voice mailbox you will need to enter the new security code.

Voice Mail Tutorial


The voice mail system tutorial automatically starts the first time you access the voice mail system. This brief tutorial will guide you through these processes: Change your security code Record your name Record your voice mail greeting If you hang-up before the tutorial has completed, none of your changes will be saved, including your new security code, which will remain 000000 until you complete the tutorial. If you hang-up before completing the tutorial, it will automatically re-start the next time you access your voice mailbox.

Voice Mail - Access Numbers


Use the following access numbers to access your voice mailbox. NOTE: If youre in SSF and have a Nortel VoIP phone, determine your access number by following these steps: 1. Pick up your handset or press the Handsfree key 2. Press the Msg/Inbox key 3.
