page 2 correcting us about relying on credit and being in debt. He has been speaking to us to pay off all our debts (and stay out of debt!) even though doing that will cut the equity nearly in half that we are receiving from the sale of the house. We believe weve a lso heard the Lord speak that He will provide housing for us debtfree as well! Actually while we were in Alma, there was kind of a suddenly that happened in one of the internship training meetings we went to, and Damon and the interns saw and prayed prophetically over us that we, as a family, are coming into a season of financial abundance. Pray that this will be manifested in Gods timing, and that we will be generous givers! The Lord had a brother speak a word to me when we were at Hope City recently, he said, The hidden key is in the offering. The Lord is teaching me (us) to give generously, no matter the season were in financially! Speaking of Hope City, let me give a report from there. Joy, Melissa, and I have been going to Hope City on Monday nights now for a few weeks, and it has been so amazing! As most of you probably know, Hope City is a ministry of IHOP that is located in the inner city, and is an outreach to the poor and homeless. They pretty much do all the types of ministry a rescue mission does with one added dimension. They have a prayer room at the heart of the ministry that operates 70 hours a week interceding for inner city KC! It is such a blessing, and in fact is humbling to see many of these people coming to the mic and praying during the prayer meetings their prayers are so raw and so real! Our first Monday night there happened to be the final day of a 21-day fast they had been on, and they had a Night of Consecration. Several of the people and families that receive ministry at Hope City took part, along with some staff members, in bringing up 12 large flat stones, one-at-a-time, and placing them before the Lord. Each stone had a significant phrase on it that is foundational to the ministry Hope City is doing. They were setting into the foundation these 12 prophetic truths and consecrating themselves to them. Here is a picture of the stones, along with some other pictures weve taken recently at Hope City:
The picture of Joy singing in the prayer room at Hope City is a reminder Joys back from Pasadena! It is such a blessing to have her back with us, and she has hit the ground running here on the missions base, continuing to sub as a singer in the prayer rooms and ministering as a part of leadership at Student Ministries. She meets as a mentor with a few of the young girls weekly, and helps in providing oversight and direction to the ministries that are going on among the teens. She is now also going to be a part of the staff for the 8week Student Ministries Summer Leadership Program that Jessianna is doing this summer, so her summer will be busy serving the Lord!
page 3 Here are two pictures of Joy, and of Jessianna singing in the Global Prayer Room. One thing that was mentioned recently at one of the Mission Base staff meetings is that even though the Global Prayer Room here in KC is in just one location, the webstream is going out 24/7 to OVER 200 COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD! They have tracked this, and there is never less than 1,000 people around the world who are tuning in to the Prayer Room webstream. There are over a million unique hits a month on the Prayer Room webstream.
The last picture (far right) is a picture of Jessianna leading with her youth worship team in the JPR (Justice Prayer Room). She and Jonathan only have 1 more week of youth teams, and then the teams take a summer break. All of the teams have grown really close together over the past few months, and have really grown in their hearts of worship and in their skills as singers and musicians. It has been great for Jessianna and Jonathan to serve on the youth worship teams in the evenings, and we have really enjoyed spending much of our prayer time there with them. But for Melissa and I, we are also looking forward to spending more time in the Global Prayer Room this summer! The Bound4Life chapter here at the Missions Base holds Life Townhall Rallies monthly, which are gatherings for those involved in various ways in the Life Initiatives going on regularly (silent sieges at abortion clinics, IHOPU justice track, small prayer groups, volunteering at Womens Clinic, etc). We have been to two of the Townhalls, and they are always so encouraging and unifying! Well, the next one is on Tuesday night, May 28th, and we have been asked to tell the Joplin story that night. Of course, this is the story of the dreams that Joy and I had before the Joplin tornado in which I was depicted as meeting the President and pleading with him to end abortion in America. Joys dream gave the code of 52911, which ended up being a date May 29, 2011 which was the date President Obama came to Joplin for the memorial service after the tornado. I met the President that day, as the dream foretold that I would, and I spoke to him, Mr. President, Remember the Unborn. Please pray the Holy Spirit will move among us at the Townhall as the story is told, and that He will galvanize and unify, even more so, the prayer movement for LIFE and the ending of abortion. Most of the time, when we share this story, a deep spirit of intercession comes upon the people for President Obama. Pray that we will be able to give place to that, and continue to pray with us for our President and his family, and the changing of their hearts in this hour. I know I need to close this newsletter, but let me share just a few more things. I mentioned in the last newsletter that Jessianna was asked to do a special at the Sunday Forerunner Christian Fellowship (FCF) service on April 28th. Well, both she and Jonathan contracted chicken pox (oh, brother!) and so she was unable to do the special. But, it was rescheduled for THIS COMING SUNDAY May 19th. She will be singing a song she wrote called Fill Me Up. If you are able, you can watch her sing live this Sunday morning; there are two services 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and she will be singing at both services. You can watch at www.ihopkc.org/weekendservices. (You can also watch the archives later if you miss it live). The IHOP graduation is today (Saturday) at 2:00 p.m., and we know a few students who are graduating so we are going. We have heard that IHOPU graduation is always an amazing time of commissioning and that the Holy Spirit always shows up so were excited to be there. (Also, we went to Megans graduation from Community College two nights ago, and are very proud of her!) Our school at Bethel is coming to a close as well, and we will miss being with the students every weekday morning. It has been great to sow into the lives of these children, most of whose families are a part of the IHOPKC community.
page 4 This weekend has been the Israel and the Church in the End Times conference, so weve had a lot of guests on the Base for the conference. We heard Wes Hall speak last night his message was on Israels Great Trouble out of Jeremiah chapter 30. It was a great message, and I told Melissa that I have never heard anyone say the things he said so clearly and boldly about God s disciplining of Israel. But he spoke with such a spirit of tenderness and love. It was really a great message if you can watch it on the archives. We are attending again tonight, its the final session of the conference Mike is speaking, and Misty is leading worship. Okay, here is the scoop for this coming weekend! We are so excited to be bringing another team from IHOPKC to Joplin for a weekend of worship, prayer, and ministry. The last time we came, we had a wonderful prophetic flow, and words were being spoken over so many people! We expect the same this coming weekend, so come to as many of the meetings as you can. The schedule for the weekend is listed below. We will be at Impact Life Church on Friday night at 7 p.m., and at Joplin Family Worship Center Saturday night at 7 p.m. We will also be at Watered Gardens Saturday morning fixing breakfast, and then we are going to do TWO morning worship sets upstairs there in the upper room, 7-9 & 9-11 a.m. Come and join us even come as a singer or bring an instrument and join the team! Also on Saturday at noon we are planning a cookout on the grounds at Watered Gardens. We will be not just eating with those who come, but playing guitars and djembes outside, worshiping the Lord, and talking to people about Jesus. The cookout will start at noon, or you can come early and help us prepare the food. Just come and join in on the fun!!! Then on Sunday morning we will finish our weekend by returning to Watered Gardens to lead the worship and bring a message at their Sunday morning service. We have a young man coming with us who is 21 yrs. old, who has a wonderful & powerful testimony about being pronounced dead when in his late teens he had a rare, sudden heart failure. Something amazing happened to him during the time he was clinically dead. We plan to have him share this testimony on Sunday morning at Watered Gardens. The schedule:
