Sunday Church School

Thank you for giving “above and beyond” in your offering envelopes this Lent season! We will have a
special stewardship announcement on May 3, to announce what we raised for our outreach ministries:
• Jorge Chavez Secondary School in Miramar, Mexico;
• Augustana Crossroad Preschool in Minneapolis; and
• Casa Hogar Orphanage in Manzanillo, Mexico.
Thank you for loving your neighbors at home and far away! Our donations will help build a new
kitchen for the school in Mexico, provide lunches and toys for kids at the preschool in Minneapolis, and help
provide needed supplies at the orphanage in Mexico.

Our final unit is on Pentecost, a celebration of the Holy Spirit. Our key verse is Acts 2:2-3: “Suddenly
there was a noise from heaven like the sound of a mighty wind….Then they saw what looked like fiery tongues moving in
all directions, and a tongue came and settled on each person there.”

The Way
Attention sixth graders! Just a reminder that in preparation to receive First Communion, you and
your parents are required to attend a First Communion Class. You should have received information at the
beginning of March. You may attend either class, regardless of where you usually worship. The two class
options are:
Sunday, April 19 • 11:20 am – 1 pm • West Campus Sanctuary
Begins with a short family communion service at 11:20 am
OR
Sunday, April 19 • 4 – 5:15 pm • Minneapolis Campus Fellowship Hall

In addition to First Communion preparation, you will be introduced to and register for the Confirmation
program, which begins the fall of 7th grade. The First Communion & Bible Presentation Service takes place
on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Minneapolis Campus. Rehearsal is at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The
service begins at 4 pm Family and godparents are encouraged to attend this special service.

If you have any questions regarding any of these events, please call Angie St. Dennis at 612-767-2244 or
Helen Cameron-Zenobian at 952-767-1502.
