Abstract This paper is about Saving Max and how it has to do with my future career. I want to be a mental health counselor and this book explores what its like to be a parent with a kid that is dealing with mental illnesses. This paper explores what I would do while reading the book and what I would do after I read the book to prove that I read it. This paper also talks about the budget and the significance of how reading the book could help me in my career. Key Words: Saving Max

Introduction There are many books in this world that have to do with mental illnesses, but Saving Max is one that actually seems interesting. For my future career, I want to be a mental health counselor. This book talks about many aspects of dealing with mental illnesses and coping with them. In the book, a mom puts her kid in the best mental hospital in America, but her son is then accused of murdering another patient. Throughout the book, you see how the mom works through her and her sons lives and comes out stronger in the end. Proposed Work To show that I actually read the book and to prove how it has to do with my career, I could write down the mental illnesses that are discussed throughout the book and write a brief description of them, the midway due date would be about March 1st. After I read the book, I could go into more research about each one and write a report on them. I will read the book, and make sticky notes and write about them and at the end I can put them all together and research and go into more depth with them at the end. By March 14th, I will have all of this done, if not before then. So it doesnt become a huge project, I will only research the mental illnesses that are discussed in the book. Budget The budget for this is $14.95 which is the price of the book. I will secure these funds from my mother.

The significance of this would be that I could learn more about the field and all of the aspects that go into mental care. The book could help me to better understand mental patients and how it affects their lives. It could also help me to understand how it affects the families of the patients and what it can do to them.
