BLESSED ASSURANCE, JESUS IS MINE
Verse 1
Blessed assurance, Jesus is Mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Unison Scriptures
7:30 a.m.
2 KINGS 4:8-21, 32-35
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long, This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.
Verse 2
Perfect submission, perfect delight! Visions of rapture now burst on my sight, Angels descending bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Verse 3
Perfect submission all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest; Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
What can be done for her? Elisha asked. Gehazi said, She has no son, and her husband is old. 15Then Elisha said, Call her. So he called her, and she stood in the doorway. 16 About this time next year, Elisha said, you will hold a son in your arms. No, my lord! she objected. Please, man of God, dont mislead your servant! 17But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.
14
The child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the reapers. 19 He said to his father, My head! My head!

Chorus
One day Elisha went to Shunem. And a wellto-do woman was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by, he stopped there to eat. 9She said to her husband, I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. 10Lets make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us. 11One day when Elisha came, he went up to his room and lay down there. 12He said to his servant Gehazi, Call the Shunammite. So he called her, and she stood before him. 13Elisha said to him, Tell her, You have gone to all this trouble for us. Now what can be done for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or the commander of the army? She replied, I have a home among my own people.
8
Unison Scriptures
His father told a servant, Carry him to his mother. 20After the servant had lifted him up and carried him to his mother, the boy sat on her lap until noon, and then he died. 21She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, then shut the door and went out. When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. 33He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the Lord. 34Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boys body grew warm. 35Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
32
Jehoshaphat said, The Lords word is with him. So King Jehoshaphat of Judah, the king of Israel, and the king of Edom went to Elisha. 13 Elisha asked the king of Israel, Why did you come to me? Go to your fathers prophets or your mothers prophets. The king of Israel answered him, No. The Lord has called the three of us in order to put us at Moabs mercy.
12
So the king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of Edom took an indirect route to Moab. After seven days they ran out of water for the army and the animals. 10The king of Israel said, Oh no! The Lord has put the three of us at the mercy of the people of Moab. 11But Jehoshaphat asked, Isnt there a prophet of the Lord whom we could ask? One of the officials of the king of Israel answered, Elisha, the son of Shaphat, is here. He used to be Elijahs assistant.
9
Elisha answered, I solemnly swear, as the Lord of Armies whom I serve lives, I wouldnt even bother to look at you or notice you if it werent for my respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah. 15But get me someone to play some music. While the musician was playing, the Lords power came over Elisha. 16 He said, This is what the Lord says: Make this valley full of ditches. 17You will not see wind or rain, but this valley will be filled with water. You, your cattle, and your other animals will drink. 18The Lord considers that an easy thing to do. In addition, he will put Moab at your mercy.19You will defeat every walled city and every important city. You will cut down every good tree, seal all the wells, and use rocks to ruin every good piece of land.
14
That is what happened in the morning. At the time of the grain offering, water flowed from Edom and filled the countryside.

Guest Bio
REV. COURTNEY CLAYTON JENKINS serves as the Pastor and Teacher of Euclid Avenue Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Cleveland, OH. Just six months before Rev. Jenkins was called to serve this historical congregation, the church edifice of Euclid Avenue was struck by lightning and the building was completely destroyed by fire. With courage, Euclid Avenue called Rev. Jenkins to become their pastor at this very difficult time. In an attempt to utilize this devastating fire as a way of allowing God to do a new thing, the congregation offered Rev. Jenkins the distinct honor of being the first African American, first female and the youngest pastor in the history of the church.
Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Rev. Jenkins is a graduate of Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Rev. Jenkins received her Masters of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary with a concentration in Preaching and Congregational Ministry. In the United Church of Christ denomination, Rev. Jenkins is an ordained minister and serves in several capacities. At the age of 26, she became the Pastor of Shaker Heights Community Church, United Church of Christ. Rev. Jenkins has facilitated anti-racism training and rites of passage programs for youth. She teaches life skills to low-income adults and incorporates African American history as a form of building up community. Rev. Jenkins volunteers her time by teaching re-entry skills to incarcerated women at the Northeast Pre-Release Center. She serves on the Board of Directors for Project Love/Purple America and the Prisoner Re-entry for Northeast Pre-Release. Rev. Courtney Clayton Jenkins is married to her seminary sweetheart Rev. Cory C. Jenkins, Senior Pastor of the historic Shiloh Baptist Church and a graduate of Morehouse College. Rev. Courtney stays committed to Gods calling and purpose upon her life. She remains excited about Gods desire to use the next generation to impact this nation with Gods unconditional love and almighty power. Called for the purpose of the Kingdom, Rev. Courtney Clayton Jenkins will continue to ensure thy Kingdom come, thy Will be done.

Prayer for Health and Healing The body is so complex yet delicate. Invisible forces invade and set it on a new course, causing discomfort, pain, and, at times, death. Lord, when unknown forces come upon our bodies, allow the spirit within to defend and enrich our resolve. Bless us with good decisions to take hold of our health and walk through illness with dignity. Lead us beside still water, and empower our immune system. Let us fight the invisible and surrender to Your spirit. Place Your hands upon those we love deeply. Place Your hands on those we care about. Place Your hands upon our lives. Place Your hands upon those who are on the sick and shut-in list here at the Village of Trinity. We call out those names right now and ask Your hands upon them. Amen.
A fixture at Trinity UCC, a protector, a guardian, a father figure . . . a grandfather figure, a strong man of God, our brother, our friend. These are just some of the terms that come to mind when I think of Lt. Arlington Swan. Affectionately known as Lieutenant, I would offer that not many of us would even recognize his given name, Arlington. Lt. Swan watched over the congregation here at Trinity UCC for nearly 20 years, starting his career here in 1993, and becoming a member in 1995. Our Lieutenant has had a recent run of health challenges, including multiple surgeries. We know there is power in prayer, and Lt. Swan represents but one of the many sick and shut in of our church family standing in need of prayer to provide them with the strength to manage illness and overcome their health challenges. Today, please pay special attention when the prayer concerns are read, and add at least one name to your personal prayer list, in addition to Lt. Arlington Swan. Quoting a favorite song, I pray for you, you pray for me. Were all a part of Gods Body. Below is a prayer from my book of prayers.
