Driving We allow 3 hits in 3 years with the exception of DUI or Vehicular Manslaughter. More than that will require no driving can be done on our behalf. A DUI or Vehicular Manslaughter within the past 3 years would require Division Director to sign off on the volunteer applicant for any volunteer opportunity. Two DUIs are generally an automatic dismissal, as well. Civil Most of these hits are allowable. Discussion between potential volunteer and the volunteers supervisor could be appropriate depending on charge. Criminal Depending on the type of charge, period of time since the conviction, the Site Director will need to review a written statement from the volunteer regarding the crimes and steps the individual has taken to change his/her life to make a determination if the individual is suitable for volunteerism. If the Site Director is unsure, final say lies with the Division Director. Generally criminal offenses within the past three years will preclude volunteerism, unless the Site Director/Division Director has agreed to allow the individual to volunteer.
