Davao City Dear Ms. Charita, Greetings from the Junior Chamber International - Philippines! JCI Philippines established in 1949, is an affiliate of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), a worldwide organization of Young Active Citizens Creating Positive Change. We are a membership-based nonprofit organization of young professionals ages 18 to 40 in 162 communities in the Philippines. We seek targeted solutions to the unique problems in our communities to build a better world, creating global impact. JCIP is the same organization that founded the prestigious search and award initiative for The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM), and the The Outstanding Filipino (TOFIL). This year, as part of the initiatives to advance young individuals and other organization in the agriculture sector, we are reviving and institutionalizing the Search and Award for The Outstanding Farmers of the Philippines or TOFARM . The goal is to foster steady increase of youth venturing in the agriculture sector, invigorating investment and scientific advancement to achieve sustainable food supply. We plan to achieve this through various interventions such as advocacy promotions, training and information sharing to cover various farming communities; In lieu of this, we would like to request for your support by inviting you, your Association and the Agricultural Cooperatives within your organization, Chairmen and Leaders and/or Representatives (2-3 per cooperative, please extend invitation to all Cooperatives in your organization), to a meeting where we can inform them about TOFARM. We will visit Davao City on May 31, 2013, Friday, to discuss the project to agriculture/farmer cooperatives, producers, farmers, fishermen, livestock growers, and those in fields related to agriculture. We will hold the Davao Regional Launching of this National Project at The Dleonor Hotel, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City, 9:30 a.m.-12:00 n.n. Free Lunch will be served, and we are prepared to reimburse gasoline, fare or transportation expenses that are reasonable enough for the invited guests to be able to attend this momentous occasion. We hope you could allow us to promote and explain the project to your followers. This initiative may also become complimentary in some of your programs this year. We believe also that this project will facilitate community cooperation, improve the relationship of the governmentcommunity-NGO, and hopefully together will find this endeavor as worthwhile.
