William J. Walsh, PhD, is president of the non-profit Walsh Research Institute near Chicago (USA) and directs physician and practitioner-training programs internationally including in Australia, England, Norway and USA. In 2013, he trained his 100th Australian doctor. An internationally recognized expert on biochemical imbalances, Dr. Walsh has devoted nearly 40 years to researching the biochemistry behind behavior, learning and memory, mental health and various disease conditions. He developed science-based, advanced nutrient therapies that have helped thousands of patients challenged by behavioral disorders, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, autism, and Alzheimers disease, and are used by doctors throughout the world. His book, Nutrient Power (Skyhorse Publishing, 2012), describes his research findings and the advanced nutrient therapies which correct biochemical imbalances that are causing learning, behavioral, developmental and mental health issues. Dr. Walsh has authored more than 200 scientific articles and reports and has five patents. He has presented his experimental research at the American Psychiatric Association, the U.S. Senate, the National Institute of Mental Health, and has been a speaker at 30 international conferences. His early work included a twelve-year collaboration with the renowned (late) Carl C. Pfeiffer, MD, PhD of Princeton, NJ (USA).
Anne Darcy ND, is a naturopath who trained in Australia where she first heard Dr. Walsh describe pyroluria and methylation pathways. She has incorporated this knowledge into her naturopathic practice over the last ten years. Anne returned to Ireland in 2007 where she works with individuals with autism, learning difficulties, digestive and inflammatory disturbances. Anne will be discussing digestive function and the two-way street between pyroluria and methylation pathways, the relationship between undigested food and food Intolerances, the cause-andeffect which results in nutrient deficiencies and inflammatory conditions. Albert Mensah, MD and Judith Bowman, MD of Mensah Medical (USA) Dr. Fionnula McHale of UltimateFitCrew began to pursue her love of science by studying medicine at Trinity College (Dublin) during which time she secured prestigious research posts at the Regenerative Medicine Institute in Galway, the University of Miami and Mayo Clinic (USA). Following her education, she worked in a variety of fields including orthopaedic surgery, gastroenterology, endocrinology and psychiatry. Enthralled by her studies with the Institute for Functional Medicine, she now specializes in functional medicine. Having also certified as a strength and conditioning specialist and Biosignature practitioner, she now incorporates this knowledge with functional medicine to provide a unique service both to patients with chronic diseases and also to athletes in amateur and elite divisions. Dr. McHale lectures at the Institute of Health Sciences in Functional Medicine and Sports Nutrition and was invited as Guest Lecturer in Functional Medicine at NUI-Galway in 2012-2013.
