During my education career banking sectors always remain the attractive sector for me. I am thankful to Almighty Allah who provides me a golden opportunity to complete my internship at UBL, one of the leading banks in Pakistan and well known in world due to its appearance in the international markets. I am extremely thankful to Prof Dr, Jawad Idress from the University of Punjab Lahore who guide me throughout the preparation of this report. This report is a thorough essence of my rigorous studies which I undergone through in a period of two months in a commercial bank. I have exclusively studied and observed the Human Resource and other Departments/ functioning of the bank and tried my best to abreast myself with all the dimensions of the banks. It was a great experience to work there and contribute handsomely in the process of appraising its pros and cons and feeling to be a significant part of the bank. I would like to pay my thanks to UBL HR Representive Mr.Zakir Hussain Anjum who provide me most information of Human Resource function of United Bank Limited and to all other managers who helped me in one-way or the other and guided me in the preparation and compilation of this report in a presentable fashion.

United Bank Limited was established in November 1959. Within a tiny age of time, the bank emerged as the third largest bank in the country after HBL and NBP. The bank was nationalized in 1974. Later on another bank the commerce bank limited was merged into UBL.UBL is basically a Commercial bank dealing with different departments Banks perform various fundamental factions, which are directly or indirectly contributory towards economic and social development of countries. The purpose of this report is to study Human Resource function and analyze performance of UBL to see whether the bank is successful in its HR performance or not, and recommending possible solutions for problems. Human Resource Management is one of the basic needs of an industry. This includes Hiring and recruiting, training and development, compensation and evaluation of employees. For meeting the purpose both secondary and primary data have been used. This report includes the brief introduction of organization and the work done by me. Moreover the report also includes the SWOT analysis and recommendations, which are based on my observation, through which improvement can be made in companys performance.
