What is Vastu Directions ?

Share4 Orientation of a building is important to save energy and to build a better house design, which would be comfortable for living simultaneously gives positive energy, good health, prosperity and wealth to the occupants. A living place and its direction have a correlation between the rotational scenarios of the planets with respect of north. There are total eight directions North, South, East, and West are called cardinal directions and the point where any of the two directions meet is called intercardinal or ordinal point like NE, SE, SW, NW. These directions are given a lot of importance in Vastu Shastra as they combine the benefits of two directions in totality. Our Shastra says if we worship, idolize and honour the Lords of these eight directions, people yield eternal blessings in the form of success, health and prosperity. We will now examine their importance according to scriptures.

He is the Vastu purush of the house / Head of Vasty Purush is North-East direction.

East: This direction is governed by lord Indra and he is known to be the king of Gods. He bestows wealth and pleasures of life. South East: This direction is governed by lord of fire- Agni. He gives us good personality and all good things of life. Fire is a source of health as it is related to fire, cooking and food. South: This direction is of Yama, the god of death. He is manifestation of dharma, and eradicates evil forces and bestows good things. It is a source of wealth, crops and pleasure. South West: This direction is directed by Niruti, the god who protects us from evil foes. It is a source of character, demeanor, case of longevity and death. West: This direction is directed by Lord Varun, the lord of rains. He bestows his blessings in the form of natural water-rain, brings prosperity and pleasures of life. North West: This place is directed by lord Vayu and he brings on us good health, strength and long life. It is a source of change in course of business, friendship and enmity. North: This direction is governed by Kuber, the god of wealth. North East: This place is a supervised by lord Eeshaan, and is a source of wealth, health and success. He brings us wisdom, knowledge and relieves us from all miseries and mishaps.

Flat/Plot Vastu:Entrance:

Flat must be of regular shape such as rectangular or square. The apartment should not fall on the dead end of the road. Any T-point buildings should be avoided. While selecting flat check properly that every room has four corners or walls. There should be more openness in North/East sides as compared to South/West sides. Check that lift should not face the entrance. Flat must have Eastern balcony which is important and auspicious. Balconies should be on the north, east or north- east directions.

Kitchen: Kitchen should face Sout-east or East direction for cooking. (because of Agni dev) Water tank sould be on South-West direction Wash basin north direction. South-East Good for Microwaves, Mix grinder. East- Its is cool place, Keep your refigrator (it relate to water).

The kitchen must be situated in the southeast. The cook should face east while cooking. The kitchen should never fall in Northeast side. Kitchen and toilets should not be adjacent in a flat.

Magical tips for kitchen: When you cook in the morning time first you offer to :- Agni South direction, second offer to cow, third offer to Pashu pakshi. (Its give u prosperity & problem hat jati hai). Kesar :- Always put a kesar 1 or 2 in your grocery i.e rice, wheat, etc ( It never end your grocery. It is good) Kapur or agar bati: - Always clean your house and burn kapur or agar bati it give positive effect. (If you will not clean your house and do this it will give you negative effect) Store room:

South-West

The store room should be constructed in the southern part of the building.

Toilet/bath room:

South or West is good

The bathroom should be constructed in the west or south direction.

Avoid : South-East Not good North or East Very bad

The toilet should never fall in Northeast side.

Plot: Vastu Purush of the house head is in North/East direction. Bhoomi puja should do in North/East direction. North /East direction you should leave empty if you are doing construction.

Plantation: Tulsi or Amala ka tree in your house shoud be there Arjun ka puda Ashok ka puda Chameli ka puda (Laxmi ka niwas ho tah hai).

Pooja Mandir:-

Mandir should not keep in Kitchen. Idol shoud not be big no than 3 in ch. / Idols should be kept at least an inch away from the wall Idols can be in the North-East, East or West of the Puja: The Scientific Reason - The morning sunlight streaming in from the North-East, East and the evening light from the West will light up the idols enabling you to see them better.

Aviod:

The Mandir (Temple Pooja room) should be located in the North Eastern Corner of the home or work place. The Photos or Idols of God should be facing East or West, so that either God or You are facing East. If there is no space for a Puja room, the Mandir can be placed in the North-East corner of the Kitchen: The Scientific Reason In apartments it may not be possible to have a separate Puja room, but since one starts the day by entering the Kitchen, having a Puja here helps one to spend a few quiet moments in meditation. Walls of pooja room should be painted in white, light yellow or light blue color.

There should be a place for the worshiping room in the Northeast part.

Avoid Puja mandirs in the Bedrooms Avoid a Toilet near or above the Puja Room: Avoid idols facing North: Avoid broken idols or torn pictures: Avoid idols facing each other: Avoid a bell in the Puja room: Avoid photographs of dead people in the Puja room: Avoid storing or hiding money or valuables in the Puja room:

Road side Mandir: Road side mandir of your house Mandir ki parchai ghar par nahi padni chahiye. Buy a flat/House far from your mandir.

Locker:-

Vastu Advice For The Locker Room

Cash and valuables need to be keep at safe place and according to Vastu South-west portion is ideal to incorporate a locker for prized valuables and treasures. Although North is said to be governed by Lord of wealth- Kuber, still South-west is recommended for keeping cash and other treasures safely. The reason behind is determined as North is a place for stability but doesnt certainly assures with safety of valuables if we keep it here.

The Cash and Valuables should be placed in the East facing cupboards, so that when the cupboard door (Shutter) opens the valuables are exposed towards the Eastern direction. The positioning of locker or safe for valuables should always be in South-west but facing North in other words the locker or safe should open towards the North for better security and safety. The locker should not be visible to people coming in the house and ensure that it must have some concrete or solid foundation. Treasure safe should be of four legs and strong for better safety. It should be placed in the farthest corner of South-west so that it cant be visible to any person. The room used for treasure or safe should not be used for storage purpose. Keep the locker room tidy and clutter free to invite more wealth. Avoid placing any deity or idol in the valuable room or you can just put a small mirror in the valuable/cash box to reflect the money. Height of this room should be equal to other rooms and shape should be regular either square or rectangle.

Study room:-

Study table of children must be kept in Northern or Eastern wall.

Bed room:-

The master bedrooms should be in the southwest corner of the house. The drawing room should be in northwest, east side of the apartment.
The bed should never be placed in front of the bedroom door. The shape of the bed should be regular and any irregular shape should be avoided. The mattress used on the double bed should be a single one. The door of the bedroom should never produce the creaking noise. The colour scheme for the bedroom in Southwest direction should be in any earthy tone like browns, shades of almond, all families of earthen colour. A great deal of attention should be paid to bedrooms in a house. One should sleep with head towards South, East or West and never in north. The bed placed should be on the South/West walls and if not there, it should be kept at least 4 away from the walls The heavy almirah should be on the South/west wall. The construction material for the bed should be the wood and the wrought iron beds should be avoided.

Newly wedd couples :Colours on Wall: No Light blue No much progress u gets in your life and house. No black Avoid

Bed Sheet: Miror: Photo: Couple photo should be on the wall of South/West. Remember always put a pair of couple photos in the bedroom. No single photo on wall. Eg. Bird pair photo. No god photo or idol should be kept in bedroom of the couple. If you want you can keep a symbol of the god. Dressing room should be North /East No miror in bed room If you have mirror in the bedroom just closed with cloth. Avoid print red or plain red Avoid print black

Understanding:-

Women should always sleep in left handside of the man. Women should always keep a bowl of water mixed with pink color every night while sleeping on the left hand side and throw in the morning in the tree or tulsi ka puda.
Couple should keep Rose Quartz crystal or Moon ball crystal keep in the bedroom for better understands and smooth life.

Magical of Sea salt: Sea salt gives you positive engery. It Keeps away from negative engery. Keep some 250/500 gms or 1 bowl of sea salt any where in the toilet, bathroo, bedroom, hall (Kisi ki buri nazar nahi lagati)

Note:- After every 15 days change the sea salt and throw the old salt out side your house/flat.
