(Affiliated To Anna University) WORK EXPERIENCE GRADUATE ENGINEER TRAINEE IN SOUTHERN PETROCHEMICALS INDUSTRIES CORPORATION LIMITED As a trainee, I am currently attached to the Urea Plant in the fertilizer complex, which employs the Mitsui Toatsu Total Recycle improved C Process for the production of 1880 TPD of urea . For the past 9 months, the experience gathered so far has taught me the criticality of maintaining important process parameters, and has also given meaning to the theoretical knowledge gained in under graduation. Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL), Chennai.

This training which spread over 2 weeks enhanced my knowledge on core che mical engineering concepts. I got introduced to industrial settings and learnt about practical applications o f various chemical engineering processes like Fractionation, Hydrotreating, Seperation Techno logy, Alk ylation, Electrolysis, etc. which were involved in the production of Epichlorohydrin, Linear Alkyl Benzene & other Heavy Chemicals. ii. Admitted as a Summe r Inte rn at Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai. During this 6 month internship at CLRI, I was attached to the C hemical Engineer ing Department to work on research projects related to Natural Dye Extraction. The conditions for the process of extraction were first optimized after which a Multi stage Counter C urrent Extractor was designed. The natural dye extracted was applied on leat her and fine shades were obtained.
