Where will the exhibition be? The winning curatorial idea will be realized as an exhibition at hosted spaces in Qatar or Italy, courtesy of Fondazione Prada and Qatar Museums Authority. (However, other locations may be considered based on your concept) Can children take part? Yes, we encourage great ideas from everyone, however, if you are under 18, you will need to partner with an adult who is over 18, to qualify to win. The adult will need be the representative of the partnership by registering themselves as the sole owner of the content. How many entries are you expecting? Curate Award is the rst of its kind in the World and invites applicants from all countries. Best of all its free! Based on this, we are expecting many entries. But, dont be discouraged, great ideas can come from anywhere. You have fair chance to have your concept seen by a panel of prestigious experts! Will the jury see all the entries? Yes, the jury will see all the qualifying entries. However, entries that breech the terms and conditions of the competition will be removed before reaching the panel. The panel will choose 20 of the best and then a winner will be selected. Can a museum professional take part? Yes, in fact, anyone can take part, you can also partner with other people too. But remember you can only enter once so make it count! You will need to select a representative of your partnership to be nominated as the sole owner of the content. What are the formats I can upload? There are two main pieces you need to submit to qualify: 1) A video your curation concept . We would love to see creative video entries, but make sure your idea is clearly and simply expressed. If you want an idea of how other people do this, visit kickstarter.com, they often have great videos of people explaining concepts. The video must be no longer than 2 minutes or bigger than 250MB. The entries will be considered on two key points; Creativity and Social Relevance.

The competition is asking you to describe your curatorial concept, not how would you exhibit your own work. So, you should not enter with a proposal based on the display of own art work. How detailed do I need to be with my submission? We are mostly looking at your general concept. However, we also require your summary list of items in your exhibition. You only have 500 words so make it count! Do I need to have the rights to exhibit these objects? No, Fondazione Prada and Qatar Museums Authority can help with attaining loans to bring your concept together. But, naturally there are challenges of pulling together art and objects from around the World. We encourage you to be creative but you will need to also consider the practicality of your idea too. If you are experiencing trouble with your upload, it could be because the le youre uploading exceeds the size limit of 250mb or you are using an internet connection that is slow or unreliable. We recommend that you use a faster internet connection to upload. If the website is experiencing any technical difficulties then we will announce it through our Facebook or Twitter account. You need to be over 18 to enter, however, if you are under 18 you will need to partner with an adult over 18 to quality to win. Your age may need to be veried before you are selected into the nals. Does my entry need to be in English? You can enter the competition in either English or Arabic. Who can enter? Anyone from any country who is over 18 can enter. You can also partner up. However, the submission must be in English or Arabic. How do I enter? Visit the curateaward.org website to see the terms and conditions of entry. The submission section on the website will clearly outline what you need to submit. However, in summary, ll in the online form and upload you video and your word document.

Does it costs to enter? The competition is free to enter. Can I submit a link of my video from youtube, instead of uploading the le from your website? No because of privacy rules you will need to upload your video on CurateAward.org When do I nd out if I am shortlisted or have won? We will announce the nalist and the winner on the website, through social media and PR. However, we will contact you directly as well, so make sure your email is correctly submitted. See the website for the key announcement dates. Do I need to travel if I win? There is a good chance you will need to travel. There may be times we need to bring you to the exhibition location to show you the space and work with you to bring the exhibition together. Most importantly you will be invited to attend the opening! If I win, do you pay for the exhibition? What other costs will I need to pay for? Fondazione Prada and Qatar Museums Authority will cover the costs for the exhibition and marketing. We will not expect you to pay for travel and accommodation either. Can I use an idea that I used for another competition before? We dont mind if you have had an idea before and adapt it for our competition as long as it doesnt breech any terms and conditions of other competitions your concept may have been submitted to. Most importantly, it needs to be your original idea. If you submit someone elses idea will be disqualied. Who owns my idea after I enter? We respect your original ideas. You remain the owner of your concept and submission. We may however showcase your concept if you are a nalist or winner, on our website, social media and other media channels, but strictly in the context of the competition and with your name clearly associated to the concept. The Terms and Conditions mention that I have to respect copyright regulations. What does that exactly mean? You may be aware that the use of materials or signs (such as trademarks or logo) owned by third parties may not be allowed for public exhibition without the proper authorization of the relevant owners. If your entry at CURATE will have nevertheless some inappropriate use that infringes copyrights, we will request you to obtain permission from third parties,or to modify the video, otherwise it cannot be published on the website in case you were one of the nalists.
