SUBJECT: Employment funds for 2003 Maintenance and Purchase. 1.

. INTRODUCTION: This report is intended to provide you with all the detailed information on the employment of the funds allotted in 2003. The funds allotted amount to 50,000_ I intend to point out the following issues: - the repairs that we have to carry out in our barracks; - the office automation. This report is also submitted to your attention through the appropriate channels so that further steps be taken for approval. 2. BACKGROUND: This report has been ordered by the Commander of the Granite Barracks. 3. CURRENT STATUS: The repairs are the following in order of priority : REPAIRS A. the maintenance of the roof of the Command Post. The cost of this repair amounts to 10,000; B. the maintenance of the courtyard. The cost amounts to 7,000; C. the maintenance of the officers mess (the replacement of four windows and five doors). The cost amounts of this repair amounts to 3,000. In annex A you will find the complete and detailed list of the repairs. OFFICE AUTOMATION: The personal computer of our base are obsolete. There is no LAN (line automation network) to connect the computer. So, it is necessary to buy new personal computers. A. the purchase of twenty new personal computers amounts to 20,000; B. the implementation of a LAN among the computers amounts to 10,000. In annex B you can find the features of the personal computers and a complete and detailed list of the offices where they will be installed. 4. CONCLUSION: In reference to the guide-lines that have been given by the Commander in this field (see annex C) and according to the funds for maintenance and purchase which have been allotted by the Army General Staff (see annex D) I intend to make the following proposals: A. begin immediately the maintenance of the Command Posts roof and of the courtyard and executing the maintenance of the roof of the officers mess by the end of the year; B. giving out by contract for the purchase of the personal computers and then for the implementation of the LAN. (If you need further information about my proposal please contact me) If you agree with my proposals: - you will execute the maintenance activities by your Service Squad and you will ask me every purchase of material you need to repair the infrastructures of the barracks; - I will give out by contract for the purchase of the personal computers (letter of invitation to the computer companies in Annex E).
