Taking the following SF6 cylinders in Bukit Sentosa on 1st January 2013 Cylinder ID PW0001 PW0002 PW0003 PW0004 Check-in Date 1/1/2013 1/1/2013 1/1/2013 1/1/2013 Tare Weight (kg) 54.6 51.2 53.4 52.3 Gross Weight (kg) 91.2 93.4 92.3 90.5

Taking the following Equipment in Serdang Sub Station on 1st January 2013 Equipment ID SG1 SG2 SG3 SG4 Check-in Date 1/1/2013 1/1/2013 1/1/2013 1/1/2013 Rated Pressure (bar) 6 6.5 7 6 Rated SF6 Capacity (kg) 100 120 150 100

On 15 January 2013, low SF6 pressure alarm on SG2 is activated. The response team immediately kick-off the top-up action by using SF6 cylinders from Bukit Sentosa. The SF6 cylinders and pressure in equipment were measured before and after the top-up action. The details as follows: Parameter Cylinder Weight (kg) Equipment Pressure (bar) Before Top-up 92.3 4.5 After Top-up 55.3 6.5

A record from Bukit Sentosa warehouse on 15 January 2013 also shows PW0003 having a gross weight of 55.3 kg. From above case study, it is known that SG2 has released about 37kg of SF6 between 1st to 15th January 2013.

Click on the generate report and produce report from 1 st to 15th January 2013 and take note the emission reduction is given at approximately 37kg. Case 2 Continuing from Case 1, this time, on 18th January 2013, Equipment SG3 activated alarm for low SF6 pressure. Upon alarm is signaled, the response team buckle up the SF6 cylinders obtained from Bukit Sentosa and prepare for a Top-up on SG3. Upon engaging the SF6 charging port on SG3, it is found that the current pressure is 4.67 bar in SG3. The details as follows: Parameter Cylinder Weight (kg) Equipment Pressure (bar) Before Top-up 93.4 4.67 After Top-up 73.4 5.6

Take note that on the pressure after top-up is not the rated pressure of SG3 @ 7 bar. When we minus the cylinder difference, we noted only 20kg of gas has been transferred into SG3. The actual lost of gas based on rated capacity (7 bar @ 150kg SF6) is 50kg. This is calculated by using (150/7) 4.67; which is about 100kg SF6 in SG3 at the point of alarm. By entering the record above at 18th January 2013, the system will capture the loss of 50 kg from SG3 and only 20kg has been consumed to top-up SG3. Remember that the cylinder record for PW0002 has to be updated to value after top-up at 73.4kg on 18th January 2013. Combining the loss of SF6 from case 1, the total loss of SF6 from 1st to 18th January 2013 is (37+50)=87kg. Click on the generate report and produce report from 1 st to 18th January 2013 and take note the emission reduction is given at approximately 87kg. Case 3 Continuing from case 3, this time, on 19th January 2013, a cylinder from warehouse is used to top-up unknown equipment in Serdang Substation. The equipment maybe unknown in the sense that there is no rated SF6 capacity or pressure is available at the equipment. The SF6 is topped-up at the unknown equipment until the density meter shows green indicator. In this case, the cylinder PW0004 is used and the cylinder weight before and after top-up is measured. The details as follows: Parameter Before Top-up After Top-up Cylinder Weight (kg) 90.5 75.5 There is no need for pressure reading as it serves no meaning since the rated SF6 capacity or rated pressure is not known. The record for cylinder PW0004 is updated on 19th January 2013 to 75.5 kg (difference of 15kg). There is no need to update any records on the equipment side as no information is available.

Thus, in this case, the loss of SF6 on the unknown equipment will be taken as the cylinder difference (i.e 15kg) and accounted by the warehouse instead of sub-station (although this is emmited through the sub-station) Click on the generate report and produce report from 1st to 19th January 2013 and take note the emission reduction is given at approximately 102kg (considering both case 1 and case2 inclusion) with about 15kg emitted by warehouse.
