ESSENTIAL BELIEFS The Bible

The Bible is Gods special revelation to humanity, centering on the glory of Gods grace through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, as the word of God, the Bible alone is our ultimate authority for all of life, theologically, devotionally and practically.

Faith
People are reconciled to God, not by their own good works, but through faith alone in the good works of Jesus. Therefore, someone becomes a Christian not by doing for God, but by receiving from God.

Grace
Salvation being through faith alone means that people are reconciled to God by grace alone through the substitutionary death of Jesus. Therefore, the Christians standing before God is a gift, not a reward.

Jesus
Our only hope of forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life is only gained through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by any merit or effort of our own.

The Glory of God

The goal of our theology is that God alone would receive the glory for redeeming, adopting and empowering sinners with new life. Therefore, there is no room for selfrighteousness in the gospel, but only for boasting in the cross of Jesus. For a more in-depth survey of our theological orientation, check out the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms and/or our extended theological summary on the Creekstone website. The Creekstone ofce is located on the Historic Square at 40-B Public Square South just above the Mass Bay Trading Company. The mailing address is PO Box 1234, Dahlonega, GA, 30533.

THE REVOLUTION: A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF ACTS

Message #22 Come and Get It
TODAYS BIBLE PASSAGE: Acts 13:42-48 (ESV) they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. 43And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION & DISCUSSION:

1) Why do you attend Creekstone on Sundays? Do you show up out of habit or duty, or because you are famished for grace? 2) What does it say about my heart if I can easily miss feasting on Sunday? What happens in my soul if I continue to miss meals? 3) Who are the people most likely not to have a taste for grace? Why might pure grace be offensive? 4) Why do you think communion, or the Lords Supper tends to be more of a somber than celebratory moment? Jesus died, but he is not dead. What would it look like if we learned to savor, enjoy and revel in the grace which he has secured for us through the cross and resurrection so that communion were an opportunity not just to look back, but to know Gods presence and power now, with a sure hope of eternal joy in the future?

next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45 But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were lled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him.
46 And

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, It was necessary that the word of God be spoken rst to you. Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth. 48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
