Jazz up your summer in Norway

JM Norway in cooperation with JMI is proud to announce the Summer Camp in Jazz Improvisation organized in Kristiansand, Norway this summer.

A festival of jazz improvisation


JM Norway seeks up to six young, talented jazz musicians to participate as international guests at a jazz improvisation th camp held this summer in Norway! For the 25 time, this jazz summer camp offers meetings between professionals, students and talented amateurs in a one week long celebration of jazz improvisation. Features: ensemble playing and instrumental classes, composing/arranging classes, outdoor concerts, jam sessions, lectures and grand final performance at the end of the camp! Dont miss out this unique chance to participate in a one of a kind Jazz Improvisation Camp. The camp will be held from July 28th to August 4th 2013. The summer camp takes place at the idyllic Agder Folkehgskole in Sgne, on the southcoast of Norway.

Participants
This opportunity is open exclusively to musicians within the Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI) network. To find your local section of JMI visit: www.jmi.net. Please note that everything at the camp will be conducted in English, hence an intermediate level of English is required. Participants must hold a medium to high musical/vocal level,

General conditions
Onsite lodging, food and transportation costs will be covered by Jeunesses Musicales Norway. Travel to and from Norway (to Kjevik airport, Kristiansand) must be paid for by the participant. Participants are responsible for pocket money and any private expenses. Participants who require a visa or other official requirements are responsible for this themselves. If any help is needed, we ask you to contact the Jeunesses Musicales Norway staff (see contact info below)

Applications

The application form must be filled in and returned to JM Norway by June 1 2013. The application must include: The general application from (in attachment), including contact details from your local JM section Your full CV Audio-material: Digital files (mp3 format) of at least 2 different peaces or a total of 10 minutes of recording in which the candidate is clearly heard, with an important soloist part. Links to sites where the music can be downloaded, can replace the mp3, and so can any mySpace or YouTube links. The material should give us an impression of the applicants skills. This material should be sent by e-mail to post@musikkogungdom.no We advice that applications, more specific the audio-material (CD or DVD), also are send by post to the following address: Musikk og Ungdom Postboks 4703 Sofienberg 0506 Oslo Norway After receiving your material, we will send you a confirmation e-mail within 7 days, notifying you about successfull submission. If you do not receive such a mail, within 7 days from a day of submission, please contact us again. After all applications are received, a jury consisting of the camp organizers will , based on the materials that have been sent, select this years summer camp participants. All candidates will be notified about the results of this selection. Accepted participants will receive a detailed information pack when accepted, containing all practical information.
