Faculty members took on the task of planning their weddings on top of their average routines. Through weather delays, schedule changes, and the demands of work, Ms. Kathryn Lenihan (Spanish) and Ms. Lora Ruttan (Dance) tied the knot in a rural setting, as Ms. Erica Darnell (English) prepared to do the same.

interfered. The rains cleared for the reception, however, and the couple was then able to celebrate under a white tent with dinner and dancing under the stars. If anything, being married helps me to be a better teacher, Ms. Ruttan said, because I feel so loved and supported at home.
Ms. Erica Darnell planned to celebrate her own marriage on June 30, 2012, after
her fianc proposed to her by the fire pit at their home. Ms. Darnell stayed busy planning ever since: she hired a decorator and wedding planner, organized dates, shopped for dresses, and decided on the cake. My fianc and I started planning the evening [we became engaged] over dinner at our favourite restaurant, she said. My wedding organizer is a nice long list that I just keep checking off. During the school year, Ms. Darnell used weekends to plan her wedding, while dedicating the weekdays to
schoolwork. Juggling has been challenging, she said, but I have a good support system both from my home and from his family. The couple did not have kids, but planned to have their dogs participate in the wedding, escorted by doggy ushers. The event would also feature a quartet of Ms. Darnells former students, organized by graduate Elizabeth Gribbins, and an ensemble of current YPAS Vocal department students, planned by Emma Smith (11). In the same fashion as Ms. Lenihan and Ms. Ruttan, Ms. Darnell planned to wed at her fiancs grandfathers former apple orchard in Scholl, IN. The ceremony would begin with Ms. Darnells father, a minister, walking her down the aisle and then joining her and her future husband in matrimony.

Its a lot different giving up your time at work when youre single compared to having a family. Having a kid is a happy struggle.
