Reports on composite materials consisting of continuous synthetic fibers and matrices for use in civil engineering structures that are subjected to the loadings and environments of the infrastructure. The Journal also covers composite materials used in conjunction with traditional construction materialssteel, concrete, and timbereither as reinforcing members or in hybrid systems for new construction as well as for repair and rehabilitation of existing structures. Of special interest are the articles that bridge the gap between research in the mechanics and manufacturing science of composite materials and the analysis and design of large civil engineering structural systems and their construction processes.

Serves as a forum for the discussion of the causes and costs of performance deficiencies in all aspects of the construction industry. Although primarily devoted to structural and geotechnical failure case studies and to investigation techniques related to those fields, the Journals scope includes disciplines other than those normally classified with civil engineering to enhance its interdisciplinary character. Papers continue to feature the causes and costs of catastrophic failures, serviceability problems, and other performance challenges, and procedural as well as technical causes of failures. Intended Readership: Civil engineers in the construction industry, along with professionals in allied industries, including architects, builders, building owners and managers, attorneys, and/or insurance industry professionals
