each child in the family.
2. Health Clinic Clearance Procedure (1-page) letter
3. Health Clinic Updating Form (2-pages) for each child in the

5. Parent and School Shared Agreements (4-pages) form for each child in the family
6. OPTIONAL Board Proxy Form (1-page) for each family
7. OPTIONAL PTA Directory Form (1-page) for each family

URGENT…if you know that your child(ren) will not be returning to ISM for the 2009-10 school year, please in-
form the Admission Office as soon as possible if you have not already done so. We currently have very few fami-
lies indicating that they will not be returning and consequently there are an ever growing number of applicants in
a WAITPOOL for possible openings. This is causing great distress and anxiety in those families (and in the Ad-
mission Office). If you are sure that your child will be leaving ISM, please submit a Withdrawal Notification
Form or contact and verify with the Admission Office (840-8488) that he/she is listed as not returning for SY2009-
10. The Withdrawal Notification Form can be obtained from the Admission Office or from the ISM website un-
der the Admission tab and then click on Re-Enrollment & Withdrawal. This will be a great help for our planning
and to the many families waiting to be admitted to the school. Thank you.

From the Art Department

Dear Parents,
Just a reminder that we, in the Art
Department, are still in recycling
mode. We particularly require news-
papers at the moment and lots of it. We
are also currently in need of ribbons, string, bot-
tle caps and tops, old tools and toys (even if it does not
work), gift wrap, greeting cards, magazines, hardware
(broken is fine), transparent plastic wrap etc . Frankly,
there is not much we can’t find a use for. However
please do not send juice or milk containers as they at-
tract cockroaches even when washed.
Thanks so much,
Olivia Jones

From the CMC

The CMC celebrates the world of books and storytelling during our

More Than A Book Week!

From Monday 27th April to Thursday 30th April, the CMC will celebrate the world
of books and stories by hosting several exciting events which will showcase local
authors, illustrators, storytellers and performing artists. We’ll be welcoming back
some of the guests from last year’s book week as well as introducing some new
ones, including:
Alitaptap Storytelling Group
Anino Shadow Puppet Theatre
Ms. Carla Pacis, Author
Mr. Elbert Or, Illustrator
Ms. Gidget Jimenez, Author
Ms. Melody Remorca, Storyteller
Ms. Neni Sta. Romana Cruz, Author
Mr. Robert Magnuson, Author and Illustrator

The schedule, including the location of each event, is posted on the bulletin board outside the ES Office. Par-
ents are welcome to attend any of the events during the week and join in the celebration with us.

We hope that you and your children will enjoy More Than a Book Week and be inspired to explore all the dif-
ferent ways that stories can be told. Congratulations to Candice Hodges, a student librarian from Grade 5
who wins a book voucher from Fully Booked for suggesting the name of our event.

See you next week!

the lists are then reviewed by myself, Counselors, Learning

school year, you will receive a section card informing you
of your child’s teacher for the next school year.

It is not uncommon to receive special requests from par-

ents. In order to minimize inequalities among sections, we
do not accept special requests from parents for placement
with a particular student, classmate or teacher. To do so
we would have to honor 770 preferences and this would
be impossible to do.

Thank you to those of you who have returned your re-

enrolment forms for next school year. We have a number
of families who have not notified us of their enrolment
intentions at this time. We would like to encourage you
to do so as soon as possible. We have a number of our
grades and programs that currently have waiting lists for
next school year.

Have a great weekend,
