recommended you click Yes, in order immediately configure X-Lite/X-PRO.

Important: To make and receive calls, you must enter a name and phone number
and password. This information registers you with a SIP Proxy Server, please note
the Login Status line on the X-Lite display.

2.2 Vital Information

• User Name (Account Name): your SIP User Name, e.g. 73222 is the user
name of the SIP URL 73222@fwd.pulver.com
• Password: the password of your SIP account
• SIP Proxy Server: to process SIP calls, you must have the address of the
SIP Proxy Server
• SIP Proxy Server Port: the default SIP port is 5060

If you are behind a Firewall you will also need:

• SIP Out Bound Proxy: to process SIP calls from behind a firewall, you must
have the address of the provider’s NAT Firewall SIP Proxy Server
• Outbound Proxy Port: the default SIP port is 5060, but this port will be
defined by the provider
• NAT Firewall IP: public IP address of your local NAT Firewall/router/or
Connection Sharing machine
3 CONFIGURING THE SIP PROXY

To configure your default SIP Proxy, click F8, or from the Main Menu, select System
Settings -> SIP Proxy -> [Default]. The following shows a display of the SIP
Proxy configuration panel from the X-Lite/X-PRO menu system.

Fill in the fields for the SIP Proxy configuration as follows:

Display Name: the name you wish to have displayed when you place a call (your
caller ID name) - spaces allowed, but no special characters
User Name: your SIP account name
Authorization User: automatically filled from User Name (can leave blank)
Password: your SIP account password
Domain/ Realm: field for proxy domain - use full name
SIP Proxy: Proxy address as IP or URL with proxy port number.
Out Bound Proxy: Proxy address as IP or URL with proxy port number.
Send Internal IP: needed when calling to another client with an “internal” IP -
leave as “Default” to allow X-Lite/X-PRO decided when this is appropriate
Register: registers your client with the SIP Proxy so that you can receive incoming
calls - can be left as “Default”
Voice Mail Server: SIP URL for voice mail server (optional)
Forward SIP URL: SIP URL used to forward calls to (optional)

Multiple SIP Proxies can be configured in this way to allow you to use one of several
service providers for making or receiving calls.
4 CONFIGURING YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS

To configure your network settings, select System Settings -> Network from the
main menu. The configuration panel for your Network Settings will look as follows:

Auto Detect IP: select “Yes” to allow X-Lite/X-PRO to auto-discover your IP

address
Listen on IP: insert your IP address if you chose “No” to Auto Detect IP
Use X-NAT to Choose SIP/RTP Ports: choose “Default” to allow the application
to automatically select these ports – needed when more than one user are behind
the same firewall
Listen SIP Port: port for X-Lite/X-Pro control protocol communications – best to
leave as default of 5060
Listen RTP Port: beginning UDP port for audio transport protocol for SIP
communications – best to leave as default of 8000
NAT Firewall IP: public IP address of local NAT firewall. (e.g. IP address of your
router, or the IP address of your computer if you do not use a router. NOT an
internal address such as 192.168.xxx.xxx).
Out Bound SIP Proxy: Proxy address of your enterprise network SIP proxy with
proxy port number - this Out Bound Proxy is used for all of the SIP registrations in
this application, overriding any other specified Out Bound Proxies
Primary STUN Server: server used to discover the type of firewall the user is
behind – X-Tunnels servers include STUN functionality

Note: Some auto-discover settings may not always properly detect network settings,
hence it is recommended that you manually configure these settings before
troubleshooting any X-Lite/X-PRO problems.

Important! If you are behind a NAT firewall, make sure that ports 5060, 8000 to
8020 are open for TCP and UDP. In addition, verify that the SIP proxy server being
used supports NAT Firewall SIP messages.

Also, if you experience one-way audio or no audio upon connection it is likely the
UDP ports are not open in your firewall.
5 INTERPRETING THE USER INTERFACE

X-Lite and X-PRO provide a handy dial pad to quickly dial alpha-numeric numbers
for calls. Most calls will involve numbers and can be dialed directly from the dialpad
or by entering the numbers from your keyboard. As the first few digits of the
number are typed, when the faded number appears, press the TAB key and X-
Lite/X-Pro auto-completes the faded numbers.
