Stewardship and Development

Stewardship Thought: The Old Testament and Gospel passages today share a common thread: widows sons are given new life by two great prophets. In the First Book of Kings, the widow thinks her son has died as a result of Gods punishment for her guilt. Elijah assures her that this is not the case, and prays for God to bring her son back to life. Jesus and His disciples, in St. Lukes Gospel, encounter a funeral procession. Out of pity for the widow, Jesus raises her son from the dead, and the people proclaim Him as a great prophet. These Scripture passages prove beyond a doubt that life is a precious gift from God, which is why the Church is unwavering in her defense of all life, from conception to natural death. Faithful stewards, like St. Paul in his Letter to the Galatians, embrace this teaching by promoting a culture of life in response to secular societys culture of death.

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information! Follow us on Facebook and Twi er!
