Prospectus For Admission to UG Programmes In Affiliated Colleges Through Centralized Ranking Process in Single Window System In Academic Year 2013-14

Centralized Ranking Process


Admission to the UG Programmes in Arts and Science Colleges under the University of Calicut for the Academic Year 2013-2014 will be conducted through Centralized Ranking Process as per the details given below. The Centralized Ranking Process (CRP), offers facility for online submission of application to multiple colleges and courses, and centralized ranking of candidates for admission to various degree programmes in colleges affiliated to the University. CRP helps students to submit applications to 10 colleges of their choice and three options from each college through some simple online steps available in on CRP website www.uoc.ac.in/ugsw. This hassle-free process is time saving, cost effective and ensures transparency in ranking and admission. It also maximizes publicity of colleges and programmes under the jurisdiction of the University. Centralized Ranking Process allows students to choose colleges of their preference after the rank lists are published online. How to Apply for CRP? For CRP, candidates shall apply online through www.uoc.ac.in/ugsw Candidates shall upload their photo, personal and educational data to the online application on the CRP website after remitting the required fee. Rs 100/- for general candidates and Rs 50/- for SC/ST candidates. How to pay fees?
Candidate residing Kerala should remit the fees through Chalan. Fees will be accepted in all the State Government Treasuries in Kerala. Collect a chelan form the Treasury and fill up the details including Head of Account. Chalan counter at Tagore Niketan on the University campus, Thenjipalam.


FRIENDS Janasevana Kendrams and Akshaya Centres For remittance in FRIENDS, Head of Account is not required. The following details should written on a sheet of paper- Name of the University, Name of Student, Course, Purpose of remittance and amount. Selected Branches of State Bank of Travancore Chelan forms are available in the Bank. Head of Account is already stamped in the chelan form. Original Chelan Receipt should be enclosed along with application.

Fee From Outside Kerala Students residing outside Kerala can remit their fees by Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Calicut, payable at the State Bank of Travancore, Calicut University Branch.

Submission of Hard Copy of Application Once verified the accuracy of the data entered, the candidates shall submit application online and also print two copies of the applications- University copy and College Copy - and send the University Copy after proper attestation, along with Original Chelan Receipt to the Deputy Registrar, Single Window Admission Cell, Tagore Niketan, University of Calicut, 673635, Kerala, India

Last date of online submission and receipt of hard copy of application June 3, 2013.
Please write APPLICATION FOR UG CENTRALIZED RANKING PROCESS on the envelop. Candidates need not to submit photocopies of any certificate and other documents. How Rank Lists Are Prepared? University will prepare college-wise and course-wise rank lists with index marks, and sure lists and chance lists as per the ranking rules in Admission Rules and publish the same on the web site. Principals need not send admission cards to the candidates. Instead, on the basis of this rank list, college principals will prepare the interview schedule and publish the same on the college notice boards, college websites, and university website. University will inform the candidates about the interview schedule through e-mails and news media. As per the interview schedule, candidates can report for interview on the basis of their rank in the college they prefer. At the time of interview, they have to submit, along with Attested College Copy of the Application, the original documents to prove their claim of educational qualification, community, income etc. Eligible candidates will get admission on the same day of the interview, after remitting the fee. Candidates included in the sure lists to groups of their first preference in one college will not be repeated in the other lists in the same college. Who shall apply for Centralized Ranking Process? Those who wish to get admission to the following seats shall apply for Centralized Ranking Process. 1 Government College: Candidates for seats except Sports Quota Seats in Government Colleges shall apply for CRP
Note The applicants for sports quota seats in Govt. Colleges are to apply to the colleges concerned in application forms available in colleges. However, these candidates can apply for CRP to be considered in the general allotment.

Aided Colleges: Candidates who wish to get admission in Open Quota Seats and seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in aided colleges shall apply for CRP.
Note a) For community seats in aided colleges, candidates are to apply to the colleges concerned in application forms available in colleges. However, these candidates can apply for CRP to be considered in general allotment. b) The applicants for sports quota seats in aided colleges are to apply to the colleges concerned in application forms available in colleges. However, these candidates can apply for CRP to be considered in the general allotment. c) The applicants for sports quota seats in aided colleges are to apply to the colleges concerned in application forms available in colleges. However, these candidates can apply for CRP to be considered in the general allotment.

Self Financing Courses in Aided Colleges: Candidates who wish to get admission in 50% of the total seats including the seats reserved for SC/ST/SEBC of Self Financing Courses in Aided Colleges shall apply for CRP
Note a) For applicants for management seats of these courses, applications are available in college offices. b) However, these candidates can apply for CRP to be considered in the general allotment.

University Quota Seats in IHRD Self Financing Colleges Candidates for seats under University Quota Seats (50% of total seats including the seats reserved for SC/ST/SEBC) ) in Self Financing Colleges run by IHRD shall apply for CRP

NOTE: for sports quota seats in all types of colleges, apply to the colleges concerned. Applications are available in colleges. FOR ALL TYPES OF SEATS (OPEN AND RESERVATION) IN BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION COURSE & BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS, CANDIDATES SHALL APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE COLLEGES CONCERNED. BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION COURSE & BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS are not included in CRP. For all other seats all seats in Self Financing Colleges, Management Seats in Self Financing Courses in Aided Courses, community and management quota seats in aided colleges, Sports Quota seats in all types of colleges, IHRD quota seats in Self Financing Colleges run by IHRD, candidates shall directly apply to the principals in application forms available in colleges. University is responsible for processing the online CRP applications and ranking the candidates. However, admission will be made as per the admission schedule prepared by the colleges and subject to the verification of the original documents at the time of interview. Eligibility criteria and ranking in CRP will be according the Admission Rules of the University In the case of applications to the seats that do not come under CRP, colleges will process the applications they receive as per the procedure detailed in Admission Rules of the University.
