Hypnotherapy Training through Hypnosis

We teach hypnotherapy through the practical application of hypnosis. By using our students own personal challenges as real-life case studies, our students gain hands-on experience in the power and effectiveness of hypnosis. They also get to experience trance states first hand. This approach helps our students to complete the course as better-balanced individuals unburdened by personal habits, limiting beliefs or a lack of confidence that might prevent them from being the best that they can be. We include challenges such as smoking cessation, weight reduction, confidence building, motivation, public speaking and stress management as standard plus whatever challenges they present during training. An often used quote in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is from the ancient stoic philosopher Epictetus who said that people are disturbed not by event but by the views which they take of them. A Study of 71 smokers showed that after a two-year follow up, patients that quit with hypnosis were twice as likely to still be smoke-free than those who quit on their own.

Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever-scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit. A meta-analysis, statistically combining results of more than 600 studies of 72,000 people from America and Europe to compare various methods of quitting.

Alladins use of language is most interesting. There is something about hypnosis that facilitates, enhances, adds, fosters, induces, strengthens, allows, enables and creates. It can turn mere suggestion into a powerful internal response. It then creates a knock-on effect on cognitions, behaviours, emotions and physical reactions.

We provide modern, comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary for students to practice as professional hypnotherapists. Students are awarded the Practitioners Diploma in Clinical and Therapeutic Hypnotherapy (Dip Hyp.) upon completion of the diploma exam. The course has been validated and accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) in the UK and is an internationally recognised qualification that allows you to practice hypnotherapy in all international jurisdictions where hypnotherapy is recognised as a complimentary therapy.

Our Refund Policy

We know that embarking upon a new career can be a difficult decision to make so we aim to make it as easy as possible. If at the end of day one of the Fast Track Course you decide that training in hypnotherapy is not for you we will refund all fees paid including your deposit.

Case Studies

Students must conduct ten case studies as part of their training. Case studies build student confidence, develop hypnotic skill and instill competence. They help develop case formulation strategies, technical skill, case-load management and how to build an ethical referral and follow-up system. The average time spent on each case study is two hours preparation and research, a minimum of two hours with the client and then classroom discussion, analysis and technical breakdown and developing interventions. From our perspective, we want to be sure that you are fully equipped with the technical skill, competence and relevant experience to start seeing paid clients. Your clients deserve the best.

The proof of the pudding

Pictured above are two students who worked with each other on day 2 of Fast Track. Mike had a fear of polystyrene and here he is comfortable and at ease with some after experiencing hypnosis for the first time. This is how we work in the classroom. Everyone gets to experience hypnosis every day. By using this innovative approach, we provide the class with the insight and understanding that is necessary for them to be successful in their work from the moment they start. We treat smoking, weight problems, confidence, motivation and stress reduction in every group. Not so long ago we had a lady with a fear of cats. After class we brought her down to a local pet shop where she fell in love with a kitten and brought it home as a pet for her new son. Every class is a little different but the results are always the same. Hypnosis works and we like to test to ensure our client got the result they wanted.

A secondary but important aim of our training is to help you create your own unique service. Students are encouraged to create templates for their own brochures, handouts and client information sheets whilst still studying so they are ready to start seeing paid clients directly after training ends. We also provide graduate packs to our graduates with all client intake, assessment, case formulation and intervention forms necessary for client services. Who we are and what we do

Hypnosis Academy is affiliated with the UKCHO, (The UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations), the London School of Hypnosis with the Director Dr J Cymrank being our UK Chief Experience Officer and the General Hypnotherapy Register. We are also part of the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners and are fully supportive of our own Department of Health and Childrens Regulation of Complimentary Therapies. In Ireland we are also a member of the Federation of Complimentary Therapies Association. Our training has been assessed and validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council in the UK and by the British Institute of Hypnotherapy standards in training committee. Here at home in Ireland we are an accrediting body for all hypnotherapy training schools. Classes are presented by Susan Wallace NGH, RTS, Ac Hyp. Dip Hyp. MNLP, MIHA, who is senior tutor. Susan is a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist with more than 15 years experience. She is a member of the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners, the International Association of Academic Hypnotists, the National Guild of Hypnotists plus many other international associations. Susan started her training at the NGH in New Hampshire and received training in the US from Boyne, Gibbons, Bolduc, Mottin, Vitale, Baranowski, Kein, Howell, Hughes and Francis. She also spent eight years at The Farago Clinic in London and has attended countless training programmes in the USA, UK and India. She has also trained with Bandler, Yapko, Brooks and Banyan. She is also a course facilitator for Mickey Mongan and HypnoBirthing. Susan has also served her time in field and experimental hypnosis and was part of the Institute of Positive Transformation in the UK. She has worked on such prestigious programmes such as the Friendly Spider Programme at London Zoo, Sell More Cars, Fearless Flying and the Stop Smoking Now group hypnosis programmes at the IPT. Susan was also resident hypnotherapist on Midlands Radio 3 and her work has been featured on Tipp FM, Newstalk Radio, The Star, The Sun, Laois Voice, Connaught Tribune, The Therapeutic Specialist and Northside People. Susan also runs a busy hypnotherapy practice and many group seminars at home and abroad. Susan is currently promoting her signature courses The Bump Whisperer Daddy Natal training for expectant fathers and 101 Hypnotic Inductions a two day course that teaches 101 hypnotic inductions without scripts. Our lecturers for post-training elective modules include Robert McKeon, who holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychoanalytical Therapy and Addictions. Robert introduces the Cognitive and Behavioural Hypnosis advanced training elective modules that form part of our continued professional development programme. Martin Neary, who presents Regression 101 a stand-alone course for psychotherapists, counselors and hypnotherapists who want to add regression work to their portfolio of skills. Regression training is included in the Diploma Course but Martins skills in this area provide invaluable insight to our graduates.
