This document describes the INET configuration used by IVVV to simulate Land to Mobile and Land to Land (tandem) traffic. This call generation simulates the following 3 call types: 1. Land to Mobile Home subscribers. Calls to registered home mobiles configured to automatic answer. APPLICATION: L2M CALLED: CLD_HOM MSC CALLING: CLG_HOM CBSC CIRCUIT: CIC_HOM BTS

INET

2.

Land to Mobile Roaming subscribers. Calls to registered roaming mobiles configured to automatic answer. APPLICATION: CALLED: CALLING: CIRCUIT: L2M CLD_ROM CLG_ROM CIC_ROM HLR

NOTES
User Defined Peg counts are provided by each script. These are available under F3.SS7 ISUP Stats on the INET. Call Model User DefinedStatistics Comments L2M IAI_SENT Call attempt ACM_RCVD Address Complete received from MSC ANC_RCVD Answer received from MSC RLG_RCVD Release guard received from MSC M2L IAI_RCVD IAI received from MSC CLF_SENT Clear Forward Sent to MSC 2. StopWatch Counters. These are available under F3.SS7 ISUP Stats on the INET. This measures the interval between sending the IAI and receiving the ACM in the L2M script. A minimum, maximum, and average measurement is given. 3. Billing records should be checked after each test generation and compared to the statistics generated by the INET to insure proper billing. 4. The lowest call rate possible is 1 call per second. The division of traffic must be distributed so that the calls to the mobiles do not overlap in other words failures will be indicated if calls are made to mobiles which havent released from the previous call. 5. The distribution of traffic over the different call models is controlled by the percentages defined under TRAFFIC MODEL PARAMETERS (section E). 6. The call model which generates traffic to the subscribers programmed for call forwarding will cause the MSC to setup an outgoing call back to the INET. The outgoing call is handled by the M2L call model defined for termination application. The trunks defined in the CIC database must be distributed so that these outgoing calls will not attempt to use a trunk which is used for incoming (INET to MSC) traffic. The INET does not provide good trunk management it will attempt to use a trunk for a incoming call although the trunk is busy with an outgoing (Call Forwarded) call. The setup defined in section E (CIC database) allows for CICs 33~47 to be reserved for the outgoing Call Forwarded calls from the MSC. This assumes the trunk group is defined in the MSC database to always hunt for 1st idle trunk from the lowest number CIC when setting up the outgoing call forward call. 7. The database built for CICs, Called Number, Point Codes, etc must match the actual office configuration. 8. Message units captured from actual traffic should be used in the call models. (default messages are based on 10 digit subscriber numbers) 9. The subscriber numbers called by the L2M for call forwarding call model must be programmed in the HLR with CFU active. The Forward To Number for each subscriber should be different. This forward to number must route a trunk group controlled by the C7 linkset under test. 10. F2 restart Y to start call generation on the INET. F9 stops the call generation on the INET. 1.
