Note:

Date Format completely changed, you now must use a proper date including all of a Month, Day and Year. Note: Avery Printing and Address Book printing will be back in the next version! (which will be a free upgrade like this one). Enhancement: Tabbing from one field to another in the main window is now a lot faster, as the contact information is only updated in memory when something has changed. Enhancement: Performance of contact icons increased. Enhancement: MUCH more robust vCard import process. Enhancement: Find feature code optimized (now HALF in size). New Feature: When choosing to Copy and entire contact, fields which have no data in them are no longer copied. New Feature: Export as vCard option. New Feature: Select All Contacts (menu item). New Feature: Previously, if you attempted to open the same database twice, it would warn you that you can't do that. Now, it will bring forth the database that you're trying to reopen. New Feature: If changes have been made to the database, the changes are not automatically saved on close, instead you are prompted if you want to save them or not (as it should be). New Feature: Added Save Database to the File menu. New Feature: Choosing which columns are viewed in the main list is now a LOT less confusing! You no longer have to deal with 0 pixel columns to disable them. New Feature: Synchronization of databases. New Feature: Modification date for contacts now saved, so we can tell which one is newer when we're syncing. Any contacts which have a modification date of 0 seconds (ones which have not been viewed in CK 4.2 or later), will cause the sync. process to abort. Opening a database with contacts which contain 0 as their modification date will be automatically written as "today". New Feature: You can now mark contacts as "Private" so they will be ignored when you sync. your database. They will not be copied or deleted, no matter what. New Feature: When a search result contains data which is on more than one line, the Find window no longer says "MultiLine" but instead returns the first line of the text in the field that was matched. Modification: Edit Field Names button moved into a menu item under the Contacts menu. Modification: Home Database path is now shown in UNIX format in the Preferenecs window. Version 4.1.1 - March 9th, 2003

New Feature: If no first name and last name is specified and you've chosen your list to display Full Name, Last Name First Name or First Name Last Name, it'll see if a nickname exists to use in its place, and if there isn't one, then the company name. Version 4.0 (Pre-Release) - November 24th, 2002

Development re-assumed by Josh Hague on November 20th, 2002 (first time since October 16th, 2001). Please do not post this version on news sites/update sites. It is for local release only on the Koingo web site. New Feature: Scroll wheel support. New Feature: Contacts all saved into one list. New Feature: Export/Import from Palm Desktop. Enhancement: Import & Export completely rewritten. Enhancement: Contact reading/saving 100x faster. Modification: If no Home Database is specified, or one can't be found then a default one is created entitled "Main Contacts" next to the application. Bug Fix: Modems now work again. Note: Calendar temporarily removed until final release (waiting for the last developer to finish it). Note: Printing will be finished by the actual release. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you were using a beta version of Contact Keeper 4.0, you must re-enter your contacts. There was a bug in one of the Betas, however, which would cause it to be impossible to export anything. If possible, export them from the previous version and import them into this one. If you don't do this, your list will NOT read properly. To bring your services over from 3.7.5, simply use the Import feature.

Version 3.7.5, October 16th, 2001 (Maintenance release)

This release is to hold you tight until version 4.0 is available. This new enhanced Contact Keeper will be available either in late October or early November (oops! looks like we undershot by a long way). Thank you for your patience and understanding. Upgrades will be free for all recent buyers of Contact Keeper (cut off date yet to be announced), however, older users will be required to pay a minimal $5.00 upgrade. Bug Fix: Properly displays colors in MacOS X 10.1. New Feature: 'Updates and News' instead of KSW VersionTracker. This new version adds a 'recent news' field! New Feature: Added link to documentation under the support menu.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Contact Keeper will only recognize your modem if you are using the PPC version and running MacOS 8/9 or the Carbon version and running MacOS X.

Changes in 3.1.1 for Mac OS X and Mac OS

Improvement: Printing now uses Monaco, size 9 for better accuracy. Improvement: Printing contact information now prints ALL contact information (previously didn't print certain fields.) Improvement: Speed of printing 'Names+Numbers" or "Names+EMails" has been greatly improved. New Feature: Names, Numbers and Addresses print option added. New Feature: Ability to create/edit numerous contacts at once.

New Feature: Added 'Jump Home' ability. This is used when you have closed all the windows and you wish to quickly reopen your 'Contacts' database. Possible Feature to Come: ability to have multiple databases open. Bug Fix: When editing a contact, the name would appear with a dash in it.

Bug Fix: If one sorted the column, the selection would stay in the same place, but the wrong Contact info would be shown. Corrected by setting no selection after sort. Bug Fix: Fixed a very mysterious error where Contact Keeper would crash on a PowerBook G3 if the CAPSLOCK key was down and you used the arrow keys to scroll down the list (only replicable on some systems). Verified: Flawlessly imports address books from PalmOS devices. GUI Fix: Added divider between the Anniversary field and Other for a more pleasing appearance. GUI Fix: Moved tab panel down one pixel to line up with the listbox. GUI Note: Listbox displays white lines in the heading where it shouldn't - waiting for the makers of our engine to fix this. OS X: Better compatibility.

New Feature: "Copy..." in the edit menu lets you copy only the most important data from a Contact (such as Addresses) New Feature: Added "zoom box" to the main window. Enhancement: When editing/deleting a contact, the selection in the listbox should stay in the same place. Enhancement: Can now set the second column to display any information you wish. Enhancement: Import Work/Home Address Line ___ have now been replaced with a more appropriate title. (ie Home Zip) Enhancement: Faster loading time for main window due to optimized code. OS X Modification: Editfields in preferences now spaced further apart to decrease overlap. Bug Fix: Closing certain windows would cause the main window to close as well. Bug Fix: If you accidently select a folder which doesn't contain ONLY Contact Keeper Contacts they now won't all be turned into text files. Note: The MacOS X version normally would work fine if the creators of our programming engine would make it more compatible. So if you experience any glitches in the OS X version - they're most likely not our fault. Note: You may have to reselect the Second Column in your preferences. Suggested: trash preferences file. Note: When importing, you can only import "clean" data. Clean data is a data form which contains only delimiters and entries (ie. NOT Microsoft Contact Databases) Note: The new registration system (imp. in version 3.0.8) is working without a hitch. If you're a previous user, contact me for your FREE update.

Bug Fix: Contact Count would be incorrect if Bookmarks were saved with that list.

Bug Fix: The buttons in the print window were misaligned. Bug Fix: If the user opted to delete a contact, left that window open, went and removed the file from their hard drive and then came back to Contact Keeper and hit the delete button the program would give you an exception error. Modification: New Registration system. Please forward your "Thanks for your Payment" message back to Koingo for your new code.

Update: Better implementation of dialing protocol. Fixed an error where the appliction would crash on startup if no Contacts folder could be found. Fixed a broken link to our contact page.
