Greenhouse gases
Introduction: in this lab report we can say that plants can help the earth to avoid the global warming because it takes the carbon dioxide and change it for oxygen when they do photosynthesis with help of the solar rays. Materials:
Vinagre Bicarbonate of Sodium Twelve leaves. Sand two Container Paper film Two Thermometers two little container

Process Container A: 1. In the container A we put some sand 2. then we put twelve leaves and two little containers 3. in one container we put vinagre and in other we put water and we used a thermometer 4. And we put all that in the big container 5. we evolved it with paper film, 6. in container A we kept it to the background so it could take solar rays . Container B: In container B we put only a thermometer and we involved it with paper film. We put it in the background to get solar rays. Conclusions: In the two containers the temperature was the same because the bicarbonate of sodium and the vinagre form carbon dioxide and the leaves did photosynthesis with the sand and the sun so it neutralized thats why it have the same temperature.

Pre - Lab Question What are some causes of global warming? Electrical pollution is the main cause of global warming. Also the petroleum is a strong reason because it is use to transport people ,make energy and make many other things, another reason is the garbage that goes to the landfills or when it is burned .Also another reason is the excessive cut off trees. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_can_we_slow_or_stop_Global_Warming (25/11/12 17:12) What is the green house effect?
The green house effect is when the temperature goes up, on Earth , since the suns heat and light energy is trapped in the earths atmosphere.

Name and explain the four greenhouse gases: GHG: Water Vapour it is the most potent of the greenhouse gases in Earth Atmosphere but its behaviour is fundamentally different from other greenhouse gases. GHG:Carbon Dioxide It is the most significant. Natural sources of atmospheric CO2 include out gassing from volcanoes, the combustions and natural decay of organic matter. GHG:Methane is the second most important greenhouse gas.CH4 is more potent than CO2 .It exists in far lower concentrations than CO2

GHG:Nitrous Oxide also know as laughing gas, it is produced naturally in the soil during microbial processes of nitrification, denitrification.

Post Lab Questions: How did the temperatures differ between both containers? Explain it There wasnt any different because the temperatures were the same in both container. What represent the covering on containers? The ozone Layer Make a model of your experiment explaining all the variables used

What could happen if you add more layers of plastic? How can you relate this with Global Warming? The temperature would increased beacouse the layers make hottest inside beacouse solar rays enter but dont go out.

Why would an increase in the average atmospheric temperature of Earth be a problem? Temperature plays an important role in how nature works, and even a small change in average temperature can have a noticeable impact on plants, animals, and other natural processes.

What could have happened if you had used soil instead of sand? The process would be better because the soil contain more minerals than sand Why you put 12 leaves in your artificial environment? Because in that way we could notice that the Co2 that was container in the plastic cover is being absorbed by the leaves.

Make a table to show your result Temperature in A 28 C 29 C 32 C 36 C 40 C Temperature in B 28 C 30C 31 C 34 C 39 C

Insert all your experiment pictures
