You will need the original, Japanese Utawarerumono DVD, bu t installation of the Japanese game is not necessary. Windows 98/ME/XP with DirectX 8.1 or higher installed Pentium III 500MHz or more 64MB RAM or more (128MB or more recommended for 2000/XP) 640x480 resolution, Full Color (at least 1,6770,000 colors) 1.5 GB free hard drive space DirectSound or compatible soundcard. 4. Known technical issues _____________________________ a. Installing into a directory/path with Japanese characters is not full y supported. It is possible to patch a Japanese installation, but once that is done it will not be possible to reinstall the translation to the same directory (for example to repair a broken installation). Whe n you encounter this problem, please rename the installation directory manually and restart the installation. b. Sometimes the game will just crash if you hold down CTRL to speed through text. This may be related in some unknown way to the "furigan a" (helpful text on top of some words), but the crashing isn't consisten t. It seems to happen more when speeding through text and much less ofte n while just simply reading it at a normal pace. These cases are very isolated and the only one that still exists (maybe) that we know of can't be duplicated (I suppose that's a good thing). c. In some cases Windows Vista will not allow the uninstaller to remove the installation directory, even if it is empty. We have not been abl e to find the cause for this, but most often the directory can be manua lly deleted after a reboot. d. Finishing the game in easier modes will unlock Hard Mode 5, but becau se this option gets placed too low on the screen, part of it will be cut off at the bottom. This is a problem in the original game and will probably not be fixed.
