I write to everyone who joins my tribe of followers. For years the medical establishment has been telling us that men are sick and getting sicker. Men have higher death rates than women for all ten leading causes of death.1 Cause of Death Heart disease Cancer Injuries (unintentional) Cerebrovascular disease Chronic lower respiratory disease Diabetes Pneumonia/flu HIV infection Suicide Homicide Men 248.5 220.1 55.2 43.9 47.6 27.4 21.2 5.9 18.0 9.7 Women2 162.2 153.6 25.5 42.6 35.9 20.1 15.5 2.2 4.5 2.5

Too many men die sooner and live sicker than women. When this occurs it is a tragedy for the man, his spouse, and his children. Too many men die before their time, leaving women and children to mourn their loss and go on without their husband and father. The mens health revolution is committed to improving the health of men so that we can all enjoy a life well lived. Over 330,000 lives would be saved in a single year in the U.S. alone if men's risk of dying was as low as women's, says University of Michigan researcher, Daniel J. Kruger, PhD. According to Randolph M. Nesse , M.D, "If you could make male mortality rates the same as female rates, you would do more good than curing cancer." The medical establishment often blames men for the problem. They say men arent motivated to take care of themselves. One study found that women are four times more likely to go to the doctor than men. Is our reluctance to visit doctors really because we dont care about our health or could it be that we know in our gut that the current medical system is sick and were unlikely to get well taking time to see a doctor? Men often have an attitude about life that Id rather do it myself. Too often we have been shamed for that attitude and told we need put ourselves in the hands of medical professionals if we are

going to live long and well. But times are truly changing and a health revolution is emerging that more and more men and women are ready to join. In her groundbreaking book, Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself, Lissa Rankin, M.D. says, Discouraged by our broken health care system and curious why some patients do everything right but still wind up sick, I set out to discover why some patients experience miraculous cures from seemingly incurable illnesses, while others remain sick even when they receive the best medical care. I researched what really makes people healthy and what predisposes them to illness not just diet, exercise and standard healthy behaviors, but everything else. What I uncovered in the mainstream medical literature led me to develop a type of medical practice I term Whole Health Medicine. This is a kind of medicine that we can all get excited about. 7 Principles of Whole Health Medicine 1. We believe in the healing power of nature. We trust in the bodys inherent wisdom to heal itself. The mind is a powerful healer and can keep us well if we align our conscious and subconscious mind to work for us, not against us.

2.

3. We recognize that symptoms are messages from our deeper selves telling us that something is out of balance within us. We look beyond symptoms to identify and treat underlying causes. 4. Our first commitment is to do no harm. We utilize the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies. 5. We take a gender-specific approach to health. What works well for women may not be the best for men and vice versa. 6. Health is about the whole person. We explore our physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives including our relationships, work/life purpose, creativity, sexuality, money, and the environment in which we live. 7. We are in charge of our own health, but we cant do it alone. We engage others as part of our health care team. Who Should Join the Mens Health Revolution 1. Men who have health concerns but want a better alternative than whats being offered by the medical establishment. 2. 3. Men who are ready to take charge of their own health. Women who care about the health of the men in their lives.

4. Everyone who believes our current approach to health is limited. We now have a sick care

system that is expensive, inefficient, and doesnt work well for most people. 5. Those who want to unite to bring real health back to health-care. For more information, drop me an email to Jed@MenAlive.com and put Mens Health Revolution in the subject line.
