Imagination is more important than knowledge

Albert Einstein (14 March 1879 18 April 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics (alongside quantum mechanics). While best known for his massenergy equivalence formula E = mc2 (which has been dubbed "the world's most famous equation"),] he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect".[The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory. He has many famous quotes about science, religion ,humanity ,education etc.. I want to write something in support of one of his popular quotes Imagination is more important than knowledge

Imagination by technical definition is the minds ability to create images, sounds, feelings or sensation without the use of any of the five conscious senses hearing, seeing, feeling, smelling or tasting. On the other hand knowledge is the condition of knowing something that is acquired and gained through experience and association .It also means the range of array of a persons understanding and information. Imagination knows no boundaries .It is limitless .I can think of something and put that something in different contexts and settings without acquiring that to the knowledge that I have learned. I can imagine everything and everyone without limiting mode of thinking. Human imagination is a very powerful thing .It sets humanity apart from the rest of the creatures that roam the planet by giving them the ability to make a creative choice. Almost Everything people surrounded themselves with is based on the unreal. Everything from the food we eat to book we read had to have been thought of by someones imagination. The imagination empowers human. It allows people to speculate or to see into the future. It allows artists to create ,inventors to invent and even scientists and mathematicians to solve problems.

According to some people imagination does play a role in human progress but it can not work alone without prior knowledge. But in reality what we see? Without any imagination how is a creation possible? Imagination drives a person to a destination. It is the basis of a design of a work. At first I have to imagine what I need to create or what I need to do and then how I can crate or how I can do? And to fulfill my desire either I will gain necessary knowledge to do this or I propagate my knowledge to the right way to do this. So what is the driving force ? The answer is imagination. Without any aim someones knowledge is of no use. And the aim is developed by imagination.

The topic is not about knowledge or imagination, it is about which one is more important .We see birds fly in the sky. If human mind has not imagined to fly like birds plane can not be invented. Only

seeing the flying birds or knowing about flying birds does not contribute any thing in human progress but the invention of plane which is developed by imagination change human lifestyle. There are lot of scientific creations such as telephone, television, computer ,internet etc we enjoy now. We can not think of even a day without these .We are habituated with these facilities but one time this could not be thought to talk someone in the other places, or to see something that is far away, even to transfer message electronically . Everything is now possible because of imagination. Actually the modern civilization stands on imagination.

It is true knowledge sharps imagination .It concerns itself with what is present to the senses, but is also a stored and shared repository of publicly acceptable thoughts, many frozen into physical symbols (written or spoken), transmitted through time and space. Knowledge coded, stored and expressed using symbols can, because of the entrancing flexibility of symbol systems, be broken up and reassembled in a multitude of novel combinations. It is this act of recombination which underlies the power to imagine. Our imagination is and must be grounded in our knowledge. The more memories we accumulate, the more material we have to work with, the richer and stranger are the fruits of our imagination. Imagination, however, is not just the recombination of stored experiences. What distinguishes us is our capacity for controlled and wakeful dreaming. This is a useful survival aid, helping us to solve problems, anticipate challenges and conceive alternatives.

When human saw the moon shines at night it just gave pleasure but when he imagined to step foot on moon it brought a huge success in human life. One time to go to moon was not a practical conception but now it is not an extraordinary event .How is it possible ?Only looking at the moon in the sky? Or only knowing that the moon shines at night .No .The desire for revealing the mystery of moon inspires human to reach there which comes from imagination. Modern civilization is now at a stage human imagines making living places at moon. When man tried to imagine what place is other side of the world then the truth revealed that the earth is round.

One of the greatest scientific discoveries of the twentieth century came from a man who was labeled as a "dreamer" while he was in school, barely passing through. Later, he held a lowly job as a patent clerk and one of his fondest pastimes was discussing theory with a small group of his friends. These discussions and his penchant for "dreaming" led to Albert Einstein's discovery of the Theory of Relativity. Mr. Einstein's success with physics led to fame and during an interview in the later stages of his career he said ,Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Not only in scientific creation but also in other sector of life imagination plays an important role. Many beautiful art pieces are produced that cannot be imagined to be produced without imagination. Even

when we try to improve our personal life ,we feel a planning is necessary which comes from imagination. When we want to be someone in life we have to fix our aim that is our dream which is basically imagination. This dream reaches us destination. To turn our dream into reality we inspire to gain knowledge properly .So imagination directs us to our destination.

In every aspects of our social life ,our economical life ,our personal life, our professional life the most fundamental thing is design means how I can improve my life ,how I can gain positive output ,how I can gain prosperity .To get these answers imagination is obvious. The world is now highly competitive. In every sector new idea , new technology, new conception is necessary which is impossible to acquire without imagination. Imagination could be considered a complex combination of free associations, which are abrupt feelings or emotions which require no previous knowledge. The separation of knowledge and imagination lies in the necessity for something be believe we know to be tested and tried. Knowledge is never static, something we discover and perceive as knowledge is never indefinite, it changes over time and must be tested accordingly on a repeated basis.

Life is more than just square boxes and black and white. We have to be able to see the colors around us, and appreciate them, before we can truly understand them and use them to make the world a better place. We have to step outside our little lives, and kind of free our minds from everyday matters. Intelligence is wonderful, but if we are unable to "think outside the box" all that intelligence has the potential to be wasted. We have the tools, the ability to create a new thing or idea, but if we don't have the right kind of mind to see what possibilities are out there, we are pretty much stuck. According to my own experience the most successful one are the ones who are the most innovative who always come up with a new way of designing something that we'll all looked at in ONE way forever.

Even in asking/answering a question here, this can be shown. You could ask something like "What is your town like?" and the super intelligent person might write all the facts and statistics about his/her town; population, area, public officials, etc....and put us all to sleep. A more creative intelligent person will have those same facts, yet use their creativity to express them in a more interesting way, maybe as more of a story and use personal experiences, and will more than likely get people to actually read their answer and thus making a great impression and educating people more than the strictly factual person. Intellectual levels and accolades are valuable in their own way, and especially serve to help the world advance; yet, our own inate imagination and creativity is unique to each and every one of us. Embrace your creative side, and dont forget to put it to use more often than not. Who knows you might have the next wacky idea.
